The State of California implemented a statewide indoor masking requirement regardless of vaccination status effective today through January 15. The State is hoping for voluntary compliance as there is no enforcement component attached to this mandate. Unfortunately today we were experiencing a power outage, Tomorrow we may also be experiencing a power outage we will keep you guys updated, sorry for the inconvenience

***Update 11:00am - We have a contractor on site diagnosing the malfunction of the transformer. We are also working on obtaining a portable transformer. An estimated time for restoration of services to be determined. We apologize and thank you for your continued patience.

*** Update 3:00am - Crews have completed the replacement of the switch. Rotating outages will begin shortly for 3 hour periods.

Please note, this is the last update to the post this evening. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

**Update 12:30am - Crews are still working on replacing the switch that blew up. Once that repair is complete, we will go back to the rotating outage schedule. We will take the area along Washington from east of the 215 to Reche Canyon (areas 3&4) down, so that the customers on West side of Mount Vernon, can get some power (areas 1&2). This will last 3 hours, and then another switch will occur.

****Update 11:00pm - While crews were in the process of switching circuits to restore power, we had a piece of equipment blow up. Our crew is safe and thankfully there are no injuries to report. The crew is coordinating getting the replacement equipment to make the repair. This problem has created more of an outage to a larger area than expected. Please understand we are doing everything we can to restore power.

***Update 8:10pm - After starting switching procedure loads where too high to do the quadrants. We will now be switch between the Mohave and Cooley circuits. So customers West of Mount Vernon will be out while customers East of Mount Vernon along Washington Street will be on. And vice versa. Each will be for a 3 hours period. The next switching will take place at 10:30pm.
We apologize for the inconvenience, we truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

Unfortunately, our equipment failure will continue into the evening and possibly throughout the day tomorrow. In an effort to provide relief for the customers who have been out all day, we are going to proceed with rotating outages. Our requests to reduce consumption was unsuccessful. There are four numbered areas below. We will rotate between these areas in 3 hour increments. 3 hours on, 3 hours off. We know this is inconvenient and frustrating. We are trying to do everything we can. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.

The Map is posted below, please pay attention to the quadrant numbers 1-4.
· Procedure will start with 2 and 3 being de-energized and 1 and 4 energized.

· After 3 hours Sections 1 and 4 will be de-energized and 2 and 3 will be energized.

· This process will repeat every 3 hours, through out the night into tomorrow. We will provides updates when available.

11:25pm- 85% of customers have power restored. Thank you for your patience.
9:18pm- crews are still testing underground cable to isolate the problem. No ETA yet.
7:30pm- Crews are still working in the field as fast and safe as possible. No ETA yet.
6:00pm -A power outage has been reported in the East Washington and Santo Antonio area. Crews have been notified.
