Hosting this event means more to me than I can ever put into words 🫶
Kaylee was my cousin, but despite our 10-year age difference, she grew up more like a little sister who lived just down the street. Some of my favorite memories are summers on the boat, walking Kaylee - my brother and other little cousins - home from school each day, sleepovers with Mickey Mouse waffles, camping trips, night crawler hunting, rolling peanut butter balls and so many more moments that made up a childhood together.
For years, I dreamed of owning my own business, but taking the leap into entrepreneurship was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made. Losing Kaylee changed the way I look at life. It challenged me to stop letting fear of change hold me back and to embrace opportunities when they come.
Kaylee was fearless. She loved adventure, new experiences, and living life to the fullest!
I didn’t open Quirkie Dough as a tribute to her, but as I’ve built this business in the community where we grew up, I’ve realized a little piece of her spirit lives here too—in the courage to try something new, the connections we make, and the memories created along the way.
That’s why partnering with the Kaylee Jade Foundation to celebrate Kaylee’s birthday feels so special to me. I hope you’ll join us on June 6th & 7th as we celebrate her life, her spirit, and the impact she continues to have on so many people 🩷
