Have you noticed? The days have really gotten shorter and there is already a touch of Fall in the air. A few genuinely cool mornings, and suddenly a hot coffee on the walk feels like the whole point of the day again.

We're lucky on the Northside — nearly every block has a little cafe or bakery worth ducking into, most of them independent, the kind of place where they start making your order when they see you come in.

What's your go-to when the weather turns? Always curious which spots people are loyal to.

If you're mulling a move this fall and want to talk it through, let's meet up over a cuppa at your favorite place and let's discuss it!

One of my favorite things about being in a neighborhood: the people you only know from the morning walk. You might not know their name, but you know their dog's name, their coffee order, and roughly what time they turn the corner. It's a small thing, but it's what makes a place feel like home.

Who's a "walk friend" you'd wave to but have never actually met?

Anyone else feel that first hint of fall this week? Kids are back in school. Mornings are just a little cooler. The light's doing that golden late-August thing. It feels like the neighborhood is exhaling after summer.

Perfect weather for a walk. Care to share your favorite walking route?

CPS kicks off the new school year on Monday, August 24 — officially the final stretch of summer. However you're spending these last few days (one last pool day, hunting down the exact folder color your kid insists on, easing bedtimes back to reality), hope it's a smooth transition for your family.

A few small things that tend to help that first week go easier: shifting bedtime/wake-time back to a school schedule a few days early, doing a dry run of the morning routine, and packing the backpack the night before (obvious, but somehow always forgotten year one).

What's your best back-to-school tip? Always collecting new ones.

There's something about August in the city — the evening light stretches a little longer, the parks are still buzzing, and you can feel everyone trying to squeeze in the last bit of summer before school's back in session. 🥹

Whether it's a walk through Winnemac Park, cooling off at Foster Beach, or just sitting on the porch with an iced coffee — what's your favorite way to soak up these last few weeks of summer?

(And if a move happens to be on your mind for this fall — no pressure, always happy to chat!)

Do good. Feel good. Build meaningful community.

Every time I'm showing property in the 'hoods, I end up wishing I had more time to just walk the block. The tree cover is full in, everyone's porches are decked out, and the mix of brick two-flats and single family homes on these streets never gets old to me.

If you've got a favorite spot in any of these neighborhoods — a coffee shop, a park bench, a stretch of street you always slow down for — I'd love to hear it in the comments.

(And if you're ever curious what your place might be worth in this market, or just want to talk through options, happy to chat — no pressure at all.)
