Hey, y'all this is Josh Bowman, Hercules' descendant, with a few updates for you.
We now have THREE sizes small ($12), Medium ($15), and Large ($20). Classic sweet and salty kettle corn is the only flavor in stock currently, but we are working on supplying more coming soon.
Do you have any flavors you'd like to see next?
Being that the business is named after Virginia Hercules, I thought I'd share a brief bio about him:
His name was Peter Francisco, a 6'6" 260lb Portuguese giant wielding a 6-foot broad sword on the Revolutionary War battlefield, hence the logo of a massive sword. With the strength of a skilled Virginia plantation blacksmith, he dominated his opponents leaving many victories in his wake and 7 monuments standing in honor of his bravery across the globe. "Without him, we would have lost two crucial battles, perhaps the War, and with it our freedom. He was truly a One-Man Army." - George Washington.
There is so much more to his story that I cannot cover it all, such as "How did he get to America if he was Portuguese" or "Why is there a stamp of him carrying a cannon?" If you'd like to know more, please ask! I love talking about my ancestor and his many legendary feats. In fact, the historical novel "Luso: for Love, Liberty, and Legacy" is a fantastic and very entertaining creative retelling of his life!
Ironically, the first records of kettle corn were in 1776 brought over by Dutch settlers. The business was going to be named Hercules anyway, but we found this a funny coincidence.
See you at our next event soon!
