🌲 Forest Meditation 🌲
Today I stepped away from the mixers, the ovens, the flour, and the endless to-do lists at Grateful Grain Sourdough Bakery.
I found myself sitting beside a quiet stream in Vermont surrounded by towering trees, with nothing to hear but the gentle sound of flowing water and the whisper of the wind through the forest.
In that stillness, I remembered why I started this journey.
The water reminded me to slow down.
The trees reminded me that growth takes time.
The silence reminded me that the most meaningful things in life are often the simplest.
This bakery has never been just about baking bread.
It was born from some of the hardest chapters of my life. Every challenge, every setback, and every victory has shaped not only who I am, but the person I hope to be for others.
As a six-time cancer survivor, I’ve learned that every single day is a gift. Life has a way of changing your perspective. It teaches you to find joy in the little things, embrace gratitude, and never take a moment for granted.
That is why gratitude is at the heart of everything I do.
When someone takes home a loaf of sourdough, joins one of my classes, or simply stops by my market stand for a conversation, my hope is that they leave with a little more hope than they arrived with.
Because sometimes healing begins with something as simple as sharing a loaf of bread, learning a new skill, slowing down long enough to connect with another person, or simply knowing someone believes in you.
If one loaf of bread, one class, one conversation, or one simple act of kindness helps someone feel seen, gives them hope, or reminds them they are stronger than they realize, then I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
Every loaf I bake is a reminder that beautiful things take time. They require patience, care, and faith—just like healing.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your encouragement, your support, and your friendship mean more than you’ll ever know.
May we all remember to slow down, breathe deeply, and choose gratitude every single day.
Born from Science. Rooted in Gratitude. 🍞❤️🌲
