DEK HOCKEY & MORE! Hockey Is Hockey is a festive event series serving as a celebration of the game we love and a tribute to our grassroots, featuring Ice, Inline, Ball Hockey & more! Hosted by Hockey Is Hockey and the host facility, the event features Youth through Professionals and welcomes hockey players and fans of all ages and skill levels. Each event varies and can include:

The Main Event Games are intended to feature NHLers & Alumni, local Celebrities, and various hockey players and coaches of the following levels:
NHL, AHL & Professional Leagues, NCAA, ACHA, Junior Hockey, Professional Inline, NCRHA (Collegiate Inline), Team USA Inline, Travel Inline and more. DRAFT NIGHT:
The rosters for the Main Event games are selected during the event’s opening night: The Hockey Is Hockey DRAFT NIGHT. Each team’s coaching staff is represented by Professional Players & Alumni, local celebrities, sponsor company representatives and local hockey coaches. Additionally, Youth Player Drafts are featured, depending on what programs are offered at a specific event. Draft Night is open to the public and all event youth players, families and friends are encouraged to attend. The evening also includes Live Entertainment, Autograph Sessions, and Media Coverage. Hockey Is Hockey welcomes all players, fans and those that are new to our great game. Come join us at one of our upcoming festive events, celebrating the game we all love.

Logan Renkowski returns to Hockey Is Hockey for the 2026 Main Event Ice Game! After making his HIH debut in 2024, Logan returns to the ice for another weekend celebrating the game.

Renkowski is coming off an outstanding season with the Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL), where he recorded an impressive 63 points in 60 games. This fall, he’ll begin the next chapter of his hockey journey as he starts his NCAA Division I career with the University of Vermont.

We’re looking forward to having Logan back as part of the HIH family and look forward to watching him take the next step in what promises to be a bright future.

After making his HIH debut in 2024, Tanner Adams is back for Hockey Is Hockey as he returns for the HIH Main Event Ice Game!

Entering his senior season at Providence College, Tanner has continued to establish himself as one of college hockey’s top players. Last month, he earned an invitation to the New York Islanders Development Camp, another milestone in what has already been an impressive hockey journey.

We’re proud to have Tanner return to HIH and grateful that he continues to support what this event is all about: bringing together players from every level to celebrate the game we all love.

Looking forward to welcoming Tanner back to Peconic Ice Rinks and see him compete in this year’s Main Event Ice Game!

ONE OF OUR FAVORITE FEATURE GAMES IS BACK!

One of the highlights of Hockey Is Hockey week returns as our HIH Women’s Game takes the ice!

Featuring 30+ girls and women of all ages and skill levels, this game has become one of the most inspiring parts of our event. From first-time players to seasoned veterans, everyone shares the same ice for a memorable celebration of the game.

Over the past several years, we’ve witnessed incredible growth in girls’ and women’s hockey, and it’s been especially exciting to watch that growth right here on Long Island. The future of the female game has never been brighter, and we’re proud to provide an opportunity that showcases the talent, passion and community that continue to drive it forward.

Whether you’ve played for decades or just discovered the game, Hockey Is Hockey is for everyone.

IT STARTED WITH A SIMPLE IDEA…

More than a decade ago, Hockey Is Hockey wasn’t an event.

It was just a small outdoor pickup roller hockey game with a handful of NHL, pro and hockey friends who simply wanted to share the game they love.

The goal wasn’t to put on a show. A weekend. A multi-day event.

It was to give our friends the chance to walk into a locker room with professional players, lace up beside them, and experience something they may have never experienced before.

Somewhere along the way… that simple idea grew into something much bigger.

Today, Hockey Is Hockey has become a celebration of our entire hockey community, bringing together NHL players and alumni, professional players, college athletes, junior players, women’s players, coaches, officials, families, volunteers and fans for one unforgettable weekend.

No matter where you played… No matter what level… No matter what logo was on your jersey… No matter what age… No matter if you play in sneakers… No matter if it’s on wheels… No matter if it’s on ice…

Hockey Is Hockey.

As we get ready for Year 11, we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to celebrate the game that has brought us all together.

Keeping it going with another PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENT!

We’re excited to welcome Michael Hagens back to Hockey Is Hockey as he returns to compete in the 2026 HIH Main Event Ice Game!

One of Long Island’s brightest young hockey talents, Michael spent this past season playing for Boston College and will continue his collegiate career this fall with the University of Vermont. Earlier this summer, he was also invited to participate in the New York Islanders Development Camp, another exciting step in what continues to be a promising hockey journey.

Before beginning the next chapter of his career, Michael will return to Peconic Ice Rinks to skate alongside current and former professional players, NHL alumni, and fellow standout athletes for a great night celebrating the game of hockey.

Let’s start Monday off with a big Player Announcement!

We’re pumped to welcome NHL defenseman Ryan Ufko to Hockey Is Hockey for the very first time as he suits up in the 2026 HIH Main Event Ice Game!

A Long Island native, Ryan is one of the game’s brightest young defensemen. Drafted by the Nashville Predators in the 4th Round (115th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft, the 23-year-old enjoyed an outstanding collegiate career at UMass, where he established himself as one of Hockey East’s premier offensive defensemen before beginning his professional career with the Predators organization.

Now an NHL defenseman with Nashville, Ryan continues to develop into an exciting two-way blueliner with a tremendous future ahead.

We’re especially grateful that Ryan wanted to be part of Hockey Is Hockey for the first time. Having another young NHL player return home to Long Island to celebrate the game with our community is exactly what this event is all about.
