Dead Stop Coffee

Dead Stop Coffee The little blue trailer with a full espresso bar, teas, chai, smoothies, and lite bites, now open in the Broomfield area and beyond.

Bulk beans, loose leaf tea, bulk chai all available for local delivery, pickup, and priority shipping. Dead Stop Coffee begins as a love story. Louisa met Daniel one Friday afternoon in January 2013 while she was at work as a barista in a local coffee shop in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Their connection was immediate and truly surprising as both were on the precipice of movement and change leading

them out of the Midwest and ultimately to Colorado. Their once two individual stories became one, and they never looked back. Having both had previous lives of college and careers after college, Daniel and Louisa were primed to fulfill the more creative aspects of their souls, and a life of making music on the road as The Copoetics began. They put thousands of miles on their van, played hundreds of gigs, made the most memorable connections with people and places, and never went a morning without making a great cup of coffee, be it in a parking lot or at a campsite. Finding local coffee shops quickly became the best way to find freshly roasted beans, a place with internet to use to book gigs, and an invaluable way to get a bead on what was going on in the community. Their love eventually led to the beginning of a family amidst the music and travels, and they welcomed their first son, Milo, in 2015, while still in the Midwest. Both Daniel and Louisa got to work together at the coffee shop where they met, and Louisa learned to roast coffee beans on a Probat drum roaster. Ultimately, though, the two could not resist the call to Colorado, and in 2016 they moved to Broomfield. Coffee had become a mainstay for Louisa and it was then she began her work at Paul’s Coffee and Tea in Louisville, CO. They welcomed their second son, Simon, in early 2017, and the focus clearly shifted into setting the family foundation, choosing then to continue on a homeschool path for the family. Owen came to join the party in 2018 while Louisa continued to work as a barista and also learned to roast on a Sivetz air roaster. In 2018, she also started a coffee industry podcast with another roaster/barista called “Thanks a Latte!” in which they deep dived into topics such as sustainability, CBD in coffee, chai, and barista antics. When the pandemic hit, many things shifted, but coffee stayed true in its ability to bring people together and stay afloat doing so, and Louisa continued to serve the Louisville community in big ways as a barista. Her focus lies not only on creating a quality drink tailored exactly to the customers’ wants but also on creating real connection and building community. Coffee shops that can emanate a sense of home for a community are so incredibly special, and it is this that will set Dead Stop apart in the Broomfield area and what sets Louisa and Daniel and their four boys apart as a family. This and a love for a great cup of coffee, or tea, or chai, or hot chocolate or whatever it is that soothes your soul. The love has only grown and Dead Stop Coffee continues as a love story as Louisa and Daniel now look towards building a stronger foundation in their community while they raise their family, recognizing our real need for a place to come as you are that then inspires you to leave even better.

Would you believe it? The issue we started having and couldn’t figure out initially on the trailer, which caused our machine not to work right, was due to a switch being switched….the wrong way. 😑 grateful it wasn’t anything more serious and annoyed it was always that simple. 🙃 glad I’m able to laugh it off due to a Mom who always reminded us to loosen up and remember that life is too important to be taken seriously 🫶🏼💀

POV: you own your own coffee trailer and have to cancel already planned open hours at the last minute because of your own mistakes. ☹️💀😅 it takes a lot to keep this wheel turning so I appreciate your grace as I navigate blindly. 🫶🏼Truly, when people ask me what it takes, being able to pivot and troubleshoot is the best skill to develop!

Today’s open hours , Wednesday 6/24, are CANCELLED. So sorry!! 😞

Have you tried one of our specialty frappes?? Truly a treat with Ghirardelli frappe in dark chocolate and white, fully caffeinated with a quad shot in 20oz and a double shot in a 16oz. Flavors like Neapolitan 🍓 and CocoMo 🥥 are favorites right now. See for yourself this recent review!!👇🏼
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“First time at Dead Stop. I got a mocha frappe. One of the best I’ve had. It has a wonderfully rich chocolatey flavor. My boyfriend had an iced mocha & my stepdaughter had an iced latte. They loved their coffees as well.”

Just call me the spin doctor. 💁‍♀️🌀 I think it’s about 63 spins to get the hitch up to where it needs to be to safely hitch the trailer….and 63 to get it back down to operate the trailer when open. How many spins does it take total??! It goes like this:
Spin up to be able to attach vehicle.
Spin down to actually hitch vehicle to trailer.
🚐 💨 drive!
Spin up to detach vehicle.
Spin down to level trailer and work event.
☕️ work event!
Spin up to attach vehicle.
Spin down to actually attach vehicle.
🚐 💨 drive!
Spin up to detach vehicle.
Spin down to store trailer until next time!

Thats a total of 504 spins for one Dead Stop little blue trailer moment! 😮‍💨😅💀

What a season of life it has been...

These past nine months have been a whirlwind of change navigating the loss of my mother and the aftermath of what has happened since. Grief has a way of informing growth despite how gnarly that growth can be. It has been the single most defining moment of my life and I can confidently say I am a different person than who I was last summer. Not to mention, last summer was our first with the little blue trailer and this summer is the second year we are open for business. What a gift! Despite how exhausted I may have been starting back up in March and carrying through having open hours while moving into a new house, traveling back and forth to South Dakota in the early Spring, getting my Dad moved here to Colorado, Dead Stop has offered such a strong sense of support and a constant source of reassurance when I needed it most. So much so, I made the decision to quit my barista/manager position of nine and a half years, tomorrow is my last day! The time has come to focus my energy on continuing to manage my growing household and grow with Dead Stop further. I have helped to create a strong community at Paul's Coffee and Tea (https://www.paulscoffeeandtea.com/) , and I will continue to source my Dead Blend beans from them as well as rely on them for commissary kitchen needs. I am grateful! And, I am honored to have built some lifelong friendships with some of my regular customers. And, some coworkers that have become my dearest friends and supporters of Dead Stop. Thank you for also being one of those people, and for continuing to support us as we accept the call for growth in Broomfield. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our roots here and are always on the lookout for ways to create a brick and mortar. The truth I know is this: good things take time, great things take longer. We're in it for the long haul and could not do it without you!
