People of the interwebs, we bring you news.

As many of you know we're a Veteran owned/operated business, and with that comes some hurdles and hiccups from time to time when camouflage obligations pop up.

For most of the rest of the calendar year we're going to have our online storefront shut down while our roaster is out serving a multi-month assignment.

Our apologies to the out of town Cosmos fans out there, but it will be impossible for us to meet demands in a timely manner, which goes against our quality and freshness standards.

We will still be maintaining a local presence at both Detwiler's Farm Market and The Waffle Press so if you're in the SW Florida area you'll be able to find your fix... and maybe you can also hook up your out of town compadres with a care package or two... if they ask nicely that is.

Thanks to everyone for supporting us so far, and we look forward to continuing to hook you up with quality brew in the future!

They're doing a soft open this week, and then are open full time next week, making awesome hand held waffles and some delicious coffee if we do say so our selves.

Waffle Press opens in Anna Maria, FL, offering walk-up, scratch-made waffles and craft-roasted coffee. Hours will be 7 a.m.-5 p.m. seven days a week.

New News!

For our local people:

We're super stoked to let you all know that you can now get three of our single origin roasts at Detwiler's Farm Market in Palmetto and at Detwiler's Farm Market in Sarasota!

12 ounce bags of coffee from Nicaragua, Honduras and Ethiopia are available for $9.99, so if you want to get off the shipping cost train head on down to one of the two markets and check some out. While you're there definitely take the time to peruse the rest of what they have to offer... Detwiler's Farm Market is an awesome local resource with tons of great offerings.

For our not-so-local people:

There will be some changes coming to the website in the next two weeks.

1) We will be moving all of our coffee to 12 oz bags and will no longer list the 16 oz and 6 oz options. This is going to help streamline some of the production, and will also help fit more coffee per unit shipped, which will be able to save you money in the long term.

2) The Detwiler's coffee will be exclusive to those locations for the month of November, after that we'll begin offering those origins at the same store price, so if you're snow birding in the area and get to be hooked on one of these options you'll be able to get it when you head back to your other stomping grounds.

3) The online storefront will be closed for the first 2 weeks of December for military duty, so if you're looking to stock up make sure you hit the shop button before it gets too late or you'll be stuck in the coffee wilderness.

For everyone:

If you're looking for some stocking stuffer/card material for the coffee lovers in your sphere don't forget that we have digital gift cards available in the Merch section of the online storefront. They never expire and work on anything added to the cart.

Election Day!

Being able to Vote is something that you shouldn't take for granted. Having a say in how the society that you live in functions is an awesome right that not everyone has, even today, and that many people have died to earn.

Even if you dislike the major party candidates on your ticket there will be countless other ballot issues from local ordinances to judges that will directly impact the town/city/state where you live.

And remember, Governance is about compromise, the opposition are Americans too, and we are all people.

Hey everyone on the book of faces, we have a few tid-bits of info for you all as we head into the Fall.

- The Summer Shipping Special will be coming to a close with the end of summer next Friday, so if you want to take advantage of the deal you'll want to get in on it before the end of next week.

- We are sad to say that we will not be at the Bradenton Farmers' Market this season ☹️ Upcoming military obligations over the next few months were going to curtail our ability to participate on a regular basis, so in a mutual decision we agreed that we won't have a regularly scheduled booth there. We'll still be in the area, and we could find ourselves doing a fill in from time to time (Peg and Realize Bradenton are awesome so we'll help out any way we can), but unless otherwise notified you'll have to Have Some either through Tellers, our website, or perhaps a few other new places locally.

- The Peru El Palto and Ethiopian Gelana Abaya have officially been retired from the rotation. In their place is our new Ethiopian Limmu (which is perhaps my favorite coffee we've ever had), and a coffee from Tanzania that is pretty awesome in it's own right.

- Lastly, we're working on a few more local options for our Bradenton/Sarasota party people, so stay tuned for some new news in the coming weeks!

New Coffee? New Coffee!

We finally have the new crop up and live on our storefront, so if you've been looking to branch your palate out a bit and try some new flavors then this is the time to do it.

There are still a few pounds left of the Peru, Lake Kivu, and the Gelana Abaya if any of them were tops on your list, but the picking is getting super sparse, so if you want to get on any of the last crop don't wait or it may be too late.

The New:

Ethiopian Limmu: This might be my favorite coffee of all time. It's super fruity, has a long finish, great mouth feel, and is just all around amazing.

Tanzania Tarime: This is a very light and delicate coffee that is best suited for more concentrated brewing methods like presses and espressos to really bring out it's character, but if you like a lighter cup it takes on an almost tea like quality when it is drip brewed

Mexico Chiapas: Another round of a great gateway coffee from Chiapas. Notes of toffee and molasses, it's a fantastic regular cup-o-joe.

Also... Next week will be the last week to get our Peru at Tellers. Stay tuned for the news on the new brew for the month of September.

Tellers

Erica from Tellers stopped by the other weekend to check out the (modest) operation and made a short clip out of it.

If you're local it's a great place to stop by for a brew, and if you're in need of a Cosmos fix when we're closed for drill you'll be able to find a handful of pounds of coffee at their shop.

Meet, Ryan, the electrical engineer behind Cosmos Coffee ☕️ You may recognize him from the Downtown Bradenton farmer’s market but if not, here he is! The man behind the beans!🤓 After years of developing a taste for exquisite coffee, he decided to embark on the endeavor of roasting his own. As a Bradenton local, this is about as fresh as it gets! Our regular La Colombe coffee will always be great, but being that Cosmos is just around the corner, makes it a little extra special👌🏽 If you’re a coffee connoisseur or you just love COFFEE and have been developing your coffee tasting abilities by trying out different kinds, I recommend giving Cosmos Coffee a shot as you will not be disappointed🤤 Beginning Friday, August 10th we will be offering one Cosmos blend that will rotate monthly as Ryan chooses the best flavor for the season. Don't call it a comeback, we've been here for years!

Hey everyone, drill is over, the roaster is fired up, and the online shop is back open and live, so if you've been yearning for some of that black gold you're in luck.

Alrighty my interwebs coffee meeple, the online storefront is closing tomorrow night, and the last roast will be going out this weekend, so if you'll be in need of some fresh brew in the next 2 weeks make sure to hit that buy button and get in on the queue.

We'll be opening back up on July 24th, and new coffee will be on slate soon thereafter.

With that here's a quick stock update:

Mexico - Chiapas: ~20lbs (we will be getting another similar crop).

Ethiopian - Gelana Abaya: ~25lbs (This is it for this crop for the year so be forewarned if it's been one of your favorites).

Hey everyone, we're back and the roaster is fired up and ready to rock!

We've got a few things to roll through so lets just jump right in:

1) This Saturday (5/26) is the final weekend of the Bradenton Farmers' Market so come on down and support a bunch of awesome local businesses for the last time this season. I'm sure your favorite people down there will have off season solutions for you to stay in touch and get their wares but this is the last time to catch them downtown.

2) Our friends over at The Foundation for Sustainable Families are running a fundraiser (link will be shared here for you). They're great people with a great mission so you can definitely feel good about where your money goes.

3) Speaking of supporting The Foundation for Sustainable Families, from today (5/22) through Sunday (5/27) all online orders through our website will automatically be given a 5% discount, and 10% of your purchase will be donated to their fundraiser. I think that's a win - win right? You save money, they get donations... yup, win - win.

May already eh?

That makes this the final month of the Bradenton Farmers' Market.

Lets hit a couple of things for all of our local and not-so-local coffee people.

1) We will be closing the online shop down Monday (5/7) for our periodic trip to visit good ol' Uncle Sam. The storefront will reopen on Monday 5/21. So if you're looking to order some brew for this month definitely jump online before the end of the weekend.

2) We will also not be at the market 5/12 or 5/19 for the aforementioned reason... so if you're local and grab your beans in person, this is the weekend to stock up.

3) The Bradenton Farmers' Market ends this month... womp womp. We're working on some solutions for local pickup or delivery so stop by our FB page or news section of the website for updates. Also keep an eye out for a new cafe that will be opening in Downtown Bradenton (@TellersBradentonFL). We've been working with their owner Lauri to bring Cosmos Coffee in as a specialty option in their shop and they'll be opening their doors sometime this summer!

Hey there coffee connoisseurs... lots to go over so lets get right to it!

Tomorrow (Friday April 20th) is our 1 year anniversary! Big thanks to everyone for all of the support that we've had throughout our maiden year of operation. Without people who love good coffee there'd be no good coffee for us to roast.

Thanks also go out to The Market at Lakewood Ranch and the Bradenton Farmers' Market for giving us a platform to reach coffee people in our local community. It's been a blast being a part of a great local endeavor.

The Bradenton Farmers' Market continues on until the end of May, so to all of our The Market at Lakewood Ranch people that will be in search of some more Cosmos Coffee come on by on Saturdays!

Which brings us to the next item for this update: 4/21 Market update.

This weekend we'll be doing 10 for 10 (give us 10 pushups and we'll give you 10% off) as well as buy 1 pound of coffee get 20% off of one of our awesome mugs.

Additionally for our local folks, this Saturday we'll be doing a SNAP up some coffee event. If you shop at the Bradenton Market with Market bucks and stop by the booth we'll have our 6oz sample bags available for $3 (while supply lasts) as a thanks for supporting local businesses.

Coffee on hand this weekend will be:

The time is coming once again to eschew the market duties in lieu of camouflage obligations (We will not be at the market on March 3rd, and it is more than likely that we will also be absent on March 17th.), so if you are thinking you'll be low on brew in the near future then this is the weekend to stock up.
