Howdy, Bradenton!

Oh, where do we start? Well, above all, thanks so much for welcoming us so warmly into your community, where we have made our home these last few years. It has truly been an honor serving you, to bring you quality, approachable coffee, food, and hospitality, and to be host to the Friendly City Flea, countless musical acts local and touring, art shows, and even a few wedding receptions. It's been a privilege, really.

So many lives have been disrupted by the pandemic - ours included. You have been so patient with us through our many modifications to our practices, to our hours and menus, and with all of the adjustments we've made in response to the new and constant challenges we've collectively faced throughout the better part of a year now. 

However, in the face of persisting challenges such as these, we have decided to leave our current downtown location. 

Our final day of service at 540 13th Street will be Sunday, November 15th. With the exception of Veteran's Day on Wednesday, November 11th, on which we'll be closed, we will observe our normal hours of operation until our last day:

Tuesday - Saturday: 8 am - 4pm
Sunday: 9 am - 4pm 

This isn't "goodbye", but a "see you later". Stay tuned for what's next - we're not going far. But, in the meantime, we'll miss you all, and we'll miss being on 13th Street. Thanks for everything.

an Oscura classic: The Cuban.

house-made and really loved by us - we stack sliced ham, slow-roasted pork marinated in mojo, provolone cheese, house dill pickles, a drizzle of garlic mayo and mustard on fresh Cuban bread straight from Ybor City, and press it to order on the griddle - a classic. Pro-tip: try with our house-fermented habanero salsa if you like it hot. ((we know it’s calling your name))

Wow. Just wow. We are floored by the outpouring of support from our community in this time of need, and in this time of great uncertainty. We want to formally say THANK YOU to each and every on of the 27 donors who have donated over $3,000 these last few weeks - but we also want to thank each and every one of you who stop in for coffee and tea, sandwiches and dogs, and to those that have shared our posts, bought gift cards, and who have simply continued to support us throughout this whole experience. Tuesday calls for tacossss 😋 our house-made street tacos are available from 5pm - close, 2 for $9. We take the same mojo-braised pork that makes our Cuban so irresistible and build it into some killer tacos - dressed with a spread of refried black beans, our tomatillo salsa, chopped red cabbage, some crumbly cotija cheese, and fresh cilantro. Ask for the habanero salsa if you’re craving some heat 🔥

HEY everyone, exciting news here: we’re expanding our operating hours!

Our day time hours are 8am - 2pm, Monday to Saturday, where we will have our cafe menu available that you all know and love.

Our late night hours are Monday to Saturday, 5pm - late. During these hours you can enjoy some cool new menu items, a cocktail menu, and some awesome specials, games, and events. We’re PUMPED to get our calendar filled, so stay tuned!

Of course, we are open Sundays, but only from 9am - 4pm. (For now)

We’re STOKED about this announcement and we want to say thanks SO much for your support. See you soon folks!
