Diving head first into wedding season this week 🙌

2024 couples, we are thrilled for your upcoming celebrations and so excited to be part of your vendor teams! We are looking at a very packed summer, and dreaming up your dessert line ups has been so fun ❤️

This is summer number 8 of being part of the event industry 🤯 There is usually a definitive week (the date changes year to year) where the switch flips, and it is a full on, crazy schedule and intense workflow for the next 6 months.

Honestly, this first week of that schedule holds a mixed bag of feelings for me: one one hand, truly I could not be more thankful for the work, the couples we get to work with, and the other vendors who inspire us everyday; on the other hand, it’s daunting to know the long work days (and nights), physical + mental load, and grit it takes to execute event after event. Anyone in the events world knows this well, I’m sure ❤️

Anyway, if you have read this long, thank you for your support! I feel like I have to do at least one post a year that is a little more honest about the behind the scenes than the highlight reels we usually share. Sending you so much love ✌️

And just like that, it’s time to prep for Thanksgiving again! This year we are doing something a little different and keeping it simple. We are overjoyed to be included in the delicious Thanksgiving menu by ❤️

This year we will be offering our signature mini pies (these have been our best sellers for the last 4 years) offered through the Seasonal Montana Store. Their menu also includes turkey-day-feast must have sides, with gf and vegetarian options, and ingredients sourced locally. It feels like it’s time to reintroduce the Sweet and Tarte team here on IG ❤️

Hi, my name is Kaitlyn, the owner of Sweet and Tarte. I have been baking professionally for over 11 years, and I turned a side hustle of making cakes 🎂 into my full time gig in 2019. They say it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at anything, and I have dedicated well over 2x that many hours to learning the art of baking since I began in high school. The wonderful thing about this field is that I continue to learn new things about my craft all the time. I continue to create almost everything that is made at Sweet and Tarte, and feel lucky to be able to stay in such a hands on role.

Faith , my sister, joined me in this business in 2021. By managing the organization of all of the intricate moving parts that keep this business moving forward, she allows me to stay working in the kitchen. Her ability to create systems within our business has allowed us to take on more weddings than I had ever hoped. In the last two years we often hear from our customers, “You have been a dream to work with.” That all comes from Faith and the attention to detail and level of communication she is able to provide.

We both thank this community from the bottom of our hearts for keeping us going, cheering us on, and being the reason we can do what we do ❤️

For this celebration, C & T chose to pair a donut wall with their wedding cake 🍩. The donut wall maybe started out as a trend, but it’s such a crowd pleaser every time and we always love to see couples choose this winning combo!

Cake details: Almond poppyseed cake with huckleberry filling. (We don’t provide donuts, but we are happy to recommend our favorites from around town!)

🧁 Loving a good cupcake bar! 🧁

The wedding cupcake “trend” has remained a popular dessert option at weddings for well over a decade now, and we will always love putting them together. This season cupcakes have been a top choice again for many of our couples, and for good reason! This option allows for wedding guests to choose from a wide array of flavors, and it is easy to throw in a gf/vegan option if desired as well. The one downside, we have noticed from personal experience, is that it’s hard to keep wedding guests from grabbing a cupcake as soon as they walk into the venue 😂.

For this spread we made the following flavors:
•Almond Poppyseed with Blueberry filling
•Vanilla with Strawberry 🍓 filling
•Chocolate with Chocolate Ganache
•Hazelnut with Toasted White Chocolare Ganache
•Lavender with Cream Cheese Frosting

Yesterday spent with family and dear friends ➡️ a Spring day very well spent 💕
It has felt like months and months since I felt creative energy when it comes to baking, but this weekend that familiar tug to play with ingredients came again. Having the space to lean into that creativity (since we did not put out an Easter menu this year) was a true gift, and I am so incredibly thankful for your support that allows me to take those much needed breaks.
