Learn Modern Calligraphy with me in August!

Join me on Thursday, August 13 at Mighty Squirrel Taproom & Kitchen in Waltham for my last summer-inspired workshop before pumpkin spice season officially takes over.

Mighty Squirrel is the perfect place for a creative night out. Their calendar is always packed with fun events, the beer selection is fantastic, and their full-service kitchen serves up some seriously delicious food. Grab a drink, enjoy some dinner, and learn a new skill!

In this beginner-friendly workshop, I will guide you step-by-step through the basics of modern calligraphy using a flexible pointed nib and ink. If you’re brand new to calligraphy or you are looking to improve your technique, you will leave with the confidence and tools to keep practicing at home.

All beginner supplies are included and everything is yours to keep!

There is a reason I call myself a Live Event Artist or explain what I do as Live Event Artistry. While calligraphy is at the heart of what I do, my background in fine arts and years of working across many different mediums allows me to create all kinds of interactive experiences for brands and I absolutely love when I get to utilize them in a live setting.

Most recently at Bottega Veneta, I spent the day assembling layered paper artwork for guests. Each piece featured one of three iconic Venetian scenes, available in two colorways, which I carefully built from six individual die-cut layers.

It immediately brought me back to the early days of my business when I specialized in wedding invitation suites. Beyond the calligraphy, my favorite part was always assembling the invitations. I loved cutting paper, layering each piece, and putting together every invitation by hand. There was something so satisfying and therapeutic about being a human assembly line, and it turns out those skills still come in handy even years later.

Creating the artwork right in front of the guests really made this activation that much more special. While their purchases were being carefully wrapped, I got to chat and assemble a keepsake made just for them. One guest, who was visiting from out of town, told me she’d been dreaming about buying her bag for years. Being a part of such a memorable moment is one of my favorite things about live events.

It was also so lovely to catch up with the Bottega Veneta team, who I got to know over the holidays, while I was personalizing cards. Hearing that clients were still talking about them months later absolutely made my day.

This is exactly why I love being a live event artist. Every activation is an opportunity to combine creativity, craftsmanship, and genuine connection.

Also a huge thank you to Marcus (Draw A Dot) for this opportunity and for having the most unique activation requests from brands (IYKYK). I can’t wait to see what we do next!

I was so excited to be back at Nespresso for another Father’s Day event!

Last year, they kept me very busy engraving glassware. This year, they wanted live painting, a service I’ve recently added, so it was especially fun to bring something new to the experience.

Here are a few of my favorites! And yes, I packed my engraving drill just in case. I was happy to provide both engraving and painting throughout the event.

A huge thank you to the wonderful Nespresso team for always being such lovely hosts (and for keeping me just the right amount of caffeinated), and to Sun Dreams Productions for another fantastic opportunity. It’s always a pleasure to be a part of these thoughtful brand experiences.

A sold out calligraphy class at a bookstore? Honestly, a dream come true!

Teaching in a bookstore has been on my wishlist forever and Book Ends really made our first class together extra special. This beloved shop has been a staple of downtown Wi******er for over 40 years and the owners are so warm and welcoming. The whole night just felt magical.

I’m so grateful to everyone who joined us and made it such a fun night. We practiced pretty letters, laughed a lot, and everyone got to enjoy 10% off during a private shopping experience… I mean, can you think of a better night out?

Does this sound like your vibe? I’ll be back on Friday, May 1st for a special Mother’s Day themed class. In addition to a beginner’s calligraphy kit, attendees will also receive supplies to create their own cards for mom, or another special person in their lives!

We are officially ONE WEEK AWAY from Modern Calligraphy for Beginners at FiDO Pizza and after stopping in for dinner with my family this weekend, I am even more excited for class!

First up, the drinks. If there is an unconventional cocktail on the menu, I am definitely ordering it, and the Pepperoni Pizza Negroni absolutely delivered. The subtle spiciness was the perfect complement to the bitterness of a typical Negroni.

The pizza got rave reviews from my family. My girls stuck to the classic cheese and my husband opted for the Tomato Pie, (sauce and pecorino, just like his grandmother used to make). I went with The Doc (tomato sauce, soppressata, garlic honey, chili, whipped ricotta) which is basically my dream flavor combo. Salty, sweet, spicy… no notes.

Now, what really makes this spot special and so much more than your typical pizza place has to be the apps. The chef sent over the Mighty Meatball (yes it was!), and we ordered the Garlic Bread, which is a wildly modest name for what actually arrives at the table. I mean, a crispy bread bowl overflowing with roasted garlic, stracchino, ricotta, and fresh thyme was worth the trip on its own!

Tickets are still available and all supplies are included (and yours to keep), so what are you waiting for? It’s the perfect excuse for a fun night out!
