We had a blast at Powell’s After Hours A Most Peculiar Evening event last night! 🎃 Bringing our tiramisu to the iconic bookstore full of people in costumes is such a Portland thing and we love it.

Had lots of fun sharing our tiramisu, people-watching, and trying to guess everyone’s costumes haha.

Thank you so much to The Idea Factory and Powell's Books for having us, and everyone who stopped by to grab some tiramisu, chat with us, and show us some love!

🧡Persimmon Earl Grey (Hồng Trà) Tiramisu🍂

Some fruits taste like home. For me, it’s persimmon.

I grew up surrounded by persimmon trees in Đà Lạt. I remember standing beneath the trees at my great-grandma’s house, waiting for the little red *hồng trứng* to ripen. We’d pick them with a long bamboo picker, and their soft, floral, honey-like sweetness was always worth the wait.

When I first came to the US, I was surprised by how big the persimmons were! Fuyu were crunchy, while Hachiya reminded me of home, only much bigger.

My grandpa grows both Fuyu and Hachiya in his backyard, a little piece of home for all of us.

Many of you asked for a persimmon tiramisu, so here it is: Hồng Trà. In Vietnamese, hồng means persimmon and trà means tea.

Honey-sweet Hachiya persimmon compote meets citrusy Earl Grey and silky mascarpone cream.

A little taste of where I grew up and where life has taken me. 🤎
