Reminder: come see us for our very last day open. Kitchen 4-9pm, bar 4-whenever you all leave. See you then flock 🐑🤍
This is an incredibly hard post to write, and one we hoped we would never have to make.
Unfortunately, since opening in December, we have not had a single month where our sales have exceeded our overhead. We have continued putting everything we could into keeping O’Black Sheep going, hoping that business would pick up and that we could find a way to make it work. But at this point, the volume of business we’re getting in Belleville simply isn’t enough to sustain the pub.
As incredibly difficult as it is to say, O’Black Sheep Pub will be closing its doors for good.
We truly wish we could have made this work. We wanted so badly for O’Black Sheep to succeed, not just for ourselves, but for our employees and for this little community.
The hardest part isn’t closing the doors. It’s saying goodbye to the people who made this place what it was.
To our staff: thank you for the long shifts, the crazy nights, the laughs, the hard work, and the heart you put into this place. You became so much more than employees, and there are no words for how much you mean to us.
And to everyone who walked through our doors, sat at our bar, ordered dinner, came out for burger night or wings, brought your friends and family, shared our posts, supported our events, or simply stopped in for a drink… thank you.
Every single time you chose to spend your money and your time with us, it mattered. Every familiar face that walked through the door gave us another reason to keep fighting for this place.
We know there have been rumors about the pub closing for a while, and through all of them, we kept fighting because we genuinely believed we could turn things around but the rumors, on top of being in a small town, got to us. We didn’t want to give up. Unfortunately, sometimes you can pour everything you have into something and still have to make the incredibly painful decision to let it go.
O’Black Sheep became so much more than just a business. It became a place filled with memories, friendships, laughter, stories, and people we will never forget.
We are heartbroken that this chapter has come to an end, but more than anything, we are grateful that we got to have this chapter at all.
Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for showing up. Thank you to everyone who wanted to see this little pub succeed.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Belleville.
We love you guys beyond measure, and we are so incredibly sorry to say goodbye. ❤️🐑
One last time, thank you for being part of O’Black Sheep Pub.
& with that being said, tomorrow Thursday the 13th will be your very last chance to come see some familiar faces and get any of our delicious menu items. 😋
