Angustown Farm

Angustown Farm Check out the "Notes" tab for a brief history of Angustown Farm! Angustown Farm is a small family farm.

We raise purebred Black Angus cattle for sale to the freezer beef market. We can supply you with a quarter of a beef, a side of beef, or a whole beef, to meet the needs of your family. All of our cattle are raised in a pastoral setting using absolutely no growth hormones or antibiotics. The cowherd eats strictly a forage diet year round consisting of fresh grass and legumes, and similar dry hay. T

he calves are raised on momma's milk until they are old enough to thrive on forage, at which time they move to their own growing pasture. Here they are moved daily into a fresh "salad bar" of good grass and legumes. In the fall at about 600 pounds, the best quality calves are selected to go into the finishing phase. Some of these are also selected as replacements for the cowherd. The other calves that aren't selected for grass finishing or as replacements are sold off to be finished elsewhere. The "keepers" are overwintered on stockpiled grass and hay, and finished on high quality grass and legumes the following spring and summer.

For years, Big Pharma has been advertising prescription drugs directly to consumers, urging us all to "ask our doctors" about the next miracle drug. Now Elanco, which makes drugs used on animals in factory farms, has created a consumer campaign designed to convince you that without factory farms, and their prolific use of antibiotics and growth hormones, there will never be "ENOUGH" food to feed the world.
