Sad news out of Salem!
Six years ago, Runaway Kitchen started as a summertime business to keep Vinnie busy while he was off from teaching. We never expected it to become what it has today.
That is what makes this so difficult to share, but after a lot of thought, we have decided to put Runaway Kitchen up for sale.
Over the last six years, Runaway Kitchen has grown far beyond anything we imagined. What began as a small summertime business has become a well-established operation with two food trailers, a loyal customer base, a busy catering and event calendar, and longstanding relationships with some of the areaโs largest events and venues. Along the way, we have met people who became true friends and built something we are incredibly proud of.
Runaway Kitchen is healthy, profitable, and well positioned for its next owner. This decision is not because the business is struggling, and it is not a closure announcement. We are simply ready for a different season of life and the opportunity to explore what comes next for us.
We are looking for the right person to take what we have built and carry it forward. The sale includes the Runaway Kitchen brand, both food trailers, equipment, recipes, established systems, service and catering supplies, inventory, and the other assets used to operate the business.
It also includes any contracted events already booked at the time of sale, as well as our established annual event calendar, including returning opportunities such as the St. Paul Rodeo. We are also happy to provide introductions to the larger venues, event organizers, and partners we have built relationships with over the years.
We fully expect the new owner to be able to continue operating at our Salem location, with the lease subject to approval by the property owner. We are also prepared to provide training and support through the transition.
