Had a fantastic dinner at Joy & Salt tonight. They just opened yesterday serving lunch and early dinner. When we read they opened we decided to try for dinner. Casual with a great menu and service. We were seated and given menus. Our wine was opened and we went over the entrees offered.

We started with the Sicilian style fried calamari made with olives, capers, Calabrian chili, balsamic syrup and parmigiano. This was excellent, a little spicy but a perfect amount of chili. The calamari was so tender.

Chris had Chicken Parm with pasta and I had the Fruita Di Mare Mafalde. Shrimp, mussels, clams. Calamari and shrimp in an amazing lemon garlic pesto sauce served over mafalde pasta. I could have drank the sauce. It was delicious. We didn’t plan on dessert but shared the whiskey cake. Homemade cake with nuts and an amazing icing!!

Overall a really nice addition to Ship Bottom that serves dinner. Really nice staff as well. Check these folks out.

It’s been a while since our last review , sorry for the lack of reviews. We dined at the Black Whale, not our first time, but for some reason tonight stood out. We made a reservation earlier and were greeted and seated right away by Dina It was crowded for a Thursday in November. We will have to get there early for our next happy hour in the bar. Dina sat us and let us know that Jess would be our server. Jess introduced herself and took our wine order. Chris knew from a post the other day what he was having, I wasn’t sure. We shared the fried Calamari and asked for an extra sauce, it was tender and delicious. Then the famous house salad with balsamic and garlic dressings gotta mix them together. Chris ordered the Scallops with asparagus and roasted tomato farro I ordered the broiled seafood combo; shrimp. scallops, flounder and a crab cake. I’m not usually a fan of most crab cakes, this was excellent! One of the side choices was rice and beans. not what you would expect but went fantastic with everything. We ended with pumpkin bread pudding and a piece of key lime pie. Both were incredible! So glad the whale is open year round! We frequent for happy hour but need to dine here more often. Overall an excellent dinner, service and atmosphere. As always please take care of your servers, Jess was awesome.

We dined at Parker's Garage & Oyster Saloon on Sunday in Beach Haven. Not our first time. It was an amazing experience as always, though a little hot in there due to storms. Nick was our awesome server, opened our wine and explained specials, additions and highlights to the menu. 3 of us shared the clam pot and sauteed Calamari. Both were fantastic! The Calamari was sauteed with Harissa and chimichurri! The clams were little necks steamed in garlic herb butter. luckily we had bread to dunk in both sauces... Our friend had the swordfish Milanese with a tomato salad, whipped avocado and a basil aioli! Chris had the tile fish served with celery root, black truffle and caviar. I had the Iberico pork which was substituted with a delicious pork chop prepared with saffron risotto and smoked clam esscabeche. we also shared the popular brussels sprouts and street corn. We all loved our meals and sides as usual. We opted for no dessert.
Looking for one of the most unique menus around? Definitely try Parkers! It's also a BYOB!

We dined at Azzurri Italian Cucina in Harvey Cedars last night. There were 6 of us. We've been before and wanted to try the porch area. Everything was delicious and the service was on point. Philomena took very good care of us. We shared two orders of the sticky Calamari appetizers which was delicious along with the classic romaine heart salad, both were excellent. 2 of us had the pork chop giambotta which was cooked perfectly. 2 had the branzino, which was very tasty, however the portions seemed very small. 1 had a pasta special with short rib and penne, incredible! Our 1 friend filled up on the appetizers and had the appetizer burrata for dinner. Overall a great experience. Azzurri should be on everyone's radar!

We dined at Ship Bottom Shellfish last weekend, it was their first weekend open for the season. It was delicious as always! 3 of us arrived at about 7 PM and had to wait about 25 minutes. Once seated Heather came over and introduced herself, got our wine open and went over some specials. We started with the fried calamari to share. Good as always. Our friend had the crab cake and blackened tuna combo, his plate was clean. Chris had the broiled seafood combination: shrimp, scallops, jumbo lump crab cake and a piece of fish, very enjoyable. I had the sesame encrusted yellowfin tuna special over wasabi mashed topped with a portabella cream sauce. It was fantastic! Overall it was delicious as always! Get there early, though the wait is worth it. Ship Bottom Shellfish is a BYOB. As always, please take care of your servers!

We had an amazing dinner and experience at Dune 18 this evening. They took some time off to refresh the inside and refresh the menu a bit. Overall, the food and service were above expectations We tasted the new Brie stuffed artichoke hearts, the familiar mussels, the new mozzarella en Carrozza and the new edamame dumplings. All truly amazing. I had a burrata salad and Chris had the beet salad. For entrées I had the pork chop parmigiana and Chris had the manfradine pasta special with a creamy pesto sauce and shrimp. Both were excellent but so much we couldn’t finish half of our entree’s. For dessert we had a Mississippi mud pie and limoncello mascarpone cake, and espresso. So happy they’re back for the season. Also note they have an amazing pre fixe menu Thursdays and Sundays.

Another fabulous dinner here. Mussel’s/ calamari / figs / / filet mignon / duck breast / pumpkin cheesecake/ NY Cheesecake/ espresso! Our server Daniel - busser Travis and the hostess Nikolina made the evening even more special. Service rocked! Don’t forget to take care of your servers!

Had dinner at Rare Company last night. We’ve been a few times since the summer. Great menu with lots of options from burgers / flatbreads to salads and of course steak and seafood. It was a little late so we opted to share the eggplant stack which was excellent! Crispy with balsamic. Then we each had salads. I had the charred romaine wedge salad with blue cheese then I had the sliced skirt steak with it. Chris had the Caesar also with sliced skirt steak. Overall Rare Company has been consistently good. They’re a BYOB as well.

We had dinner at Capitano recently, there were 6 of us. Most of us have been once before. They have newer Fall menu items. We shared a few appetizers: Crispy Calamari, The Burrata & Prosciutto and the Garlic Clam Pot! They were all delicious and enough to share! A couple had the veal Amalfi, veal cutlet, sausage, spicy peppers, artichoke, lemon garlic white wine. Chicken Amalfi, and I had the Pork Chop Martini: pounded thin, breaded & pan-fried, cherry peppers, pecorino, shallot butter vermouth, spinach & potato and one had the Eggplant Parm: egg-battered, grated romano, homemade sauce, baked mozzarella, pasta. The service, atmosphere and food were all very good and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back. Capitano is a BYOB in the heart of Beach Haven with amazing views of the bay. Not sure how long they're open - at least through the Fall.
