Unfortunately, I have to relay horrible news. We had a meeting with the building owner who had said previously he would give financial backing for the re-opening and promised to be a trusted partner for the business. While in our meeting, our locks were changed without our knowledge with no true explanation other than he changed his mind. We stopped business in November per request of a consultant to get everything ready for this change. Hire staff, set up accounts together, order liquor, fix things etc. and now, we are technically out of business and the employees we hired are out of work.....and my dream and vision are gone. My personal belongings, and equipment are all still there. And now there's silence.

I appreciate all who were planning trips to visit, all media channels and news writing stories and those who always supported. I am devastated, and humiliated by this and dont know how to recover. This was my everything. I put years of my heart and soul into this.

For now, im taking my chef coat off, and laying my knives down. For the first time in my life, I dont know if ill ever pick them up again.

I need to apologize on behalf of Doordash for pi***ng off the customers by canceling orders.....and several other issues. Having said that, we have several updates. We have move to a Corona beere battered cod. Better flavor and texture for sure. We have beer in the house.

Oh, that picture is our soup for the season, Menudo.
When I was a kid, my mother would make this soup, and the house would reak of goodness. Of course, this comes 2 ways. For the carnivores this dish comes with a serving of tripe. For the vegans, it comes with snow cap mushroom which mimics the look and texture of tripe. Hope to see you soon!

Due to the running festival basically shutting down any way for me to shop we cant open today. I was going to shoot for opening dinner, but this is impossible. Im stuck in traffic. On to the good news......

Several weeks ago, we had a rocky opening due to system issues and several other things as well. We have focused on fixing all of the issues, and we are running a lot more efficiently. I say we, because I just hired a chef for the mornings, Sunday as well as Monday. So now there's a team. Some old, some new all different. Yet, we share the same passion. We will start our first Sunday and Monday next week(not tomorrow). We are tying the loose ends on the liquor license and we will have alcohol in the building this week. Your first margarita is on me;)

For those who dont get it......
This beautiful couple has been supporting us since we opened the food truck. The husband wasn't a vegan, but tried for his wife and kept coming. Now, here they sit.....at the world's first restaurant with a dual menu to serve both vegans and carnivores with the same experience! They got matching flights, and can discuss the meal and how delicious it is. If he chooses to go vegan, it will be the same taste. Here's the thing. Ive made it possible to have these discussions right at the table. In my house, all are welcome;)
