Another Friday Night Wind Down is in the books.

Tonight, women gathered at the SpeakUpSis Empowerment Center for storytelling, poetry, conversation, laughter, and sharing. We’re grateful for every woman who chose to spend her Friday evening with us and for what each person brought into the room.

Friday Night Wind Down happens one Friday each month, and there is room for you here, too.

Women of different ages, backgrounds, races, and walks of life are welcome to attend and participate. Come with a friend or come on your own. Come ready to share or simply come ready to enjoy the evening.

We hope to see you at the next Friday Night Wind Down.

This time next Friday, we'll be winding down.

There won't be a big crowd or pressure to perform. It'll just be a room of women, good conversation, a little laughter, and space for stories and poetry.

Friday Night Wind Down: Spoken Word & Storytelling Night is for the woman who wants to share something AND the woman who would much rather sit back and listen. Both belong in the room.

We created something new for the CSRA, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

There is so much happening throughout our region, but sometimes, you only hear about it if you follow the right page, belong to the right group, or know someone who knows.

So SpeakUpSis created Speak Up CSRA. It's a public Facebook group where members can post and share events, activities, opportunities, resources, local businesses, community news, and other things worth knowing about across the Central Savannah River Area.

This part is VERY important and matters to us... the whole CSRA is welcome.

This group isn’t centered around one neighborhood, organization, business, social circle, or part of the region. It’s a community space for all of us to share what’s happening and discover what we may have been missing.

Hosting something? Post it.
Know about something good happening? Share it.
Looking for something to do? Come see what’s happening.

We’d love to have you in the group and bring some folks with you.

Friday night plans? Come wind down with us.

Friday Night Wind Down returns September 25th with Spoken Word & Storytelling Night at the SpeakUpSis Empowerment Center.

This is an intimate, women-only evening for good conversation, storytelling, poetry, laughter, and connection. You do not have to be a professional poet or storyteller or get on the mic at all. Come share something of your own, tell a story, read a poem, or simply sit back and enjoy the room.

Seating is intentionally limited, so RSVP is required.
