RIP Domino
Domino was born behind a waterbed in Carbondale, Illinois in April 1996. At the tender age of one month, he set out for a new beginning in Oregon. Riding in the back seat of a 1988½ Ford Es**rt, driven by his faithful human servant Jon, Domino, his mother, and his siblings travelled across the country to their new home in Silverton, Oregon. Initially designated as “Karen’s cat”, Domino never felt the desire to move to his designated home in Eastern Washington, choosing instead to live his entire life with Jon, and a second human named Sarah.
Domino lived many places, from small towns to large cities, to his favorite country home. He was an indoor/outdoor cat for his whole life, surviving both the suburban jungle of Kirkland, Washington, and the wilderness of Monroe. He spent his final 10 years in Auburn, Washington, where he regularly patrolled the backyard, defending it from rabbits, squirrels, and Joey, the neighbor’s cat.
He had many companions over the years, including his real brother Beeze and his adopted feline siblings Mighty Mo, BeBe, Ollie, Felix, BooBoo, and Butters. He even lived with two goats in Monroe, though it was beneath him to socialize with them. He found most of these siblings annoying; however he did appreciate BooBoo’s willingness to provide him ear baths as he got older.
Domino liked food, though was not prone to excess as some of his adopted siblings were. He was particularly fond of chicken teriyaki, beef jerky, cheese and French fries, and was willing to remove the digits of his human servants for just a taste of either. He was prone to chasing invisible things and sometimes the red dot when he thought no one was looking. He even liked car rides, as long as he could see out a window.
He spent his last week enjoying such pleasures as sleeping in the clean laundry, eating unlimited amounts of his favorite foods, and being fawned over by his servants.
Domino was a good kitty and he will be sorely missed.
