Leaving San Antonio with a caffeine buzz! ☕️✈️

Before catching my flight back to Atlanta, I had to squeeze in one last local find: in the Terminal A (near Gate 7). Merit is a San Antonio staple, opening its first cafe in 2009 in Alamo Heights (originally as Local Coffee) and later expanding to Austin, Dallas, and Houston. Emphasizing a quality cup of coffee, Merit sources their beans directly from farmers in Central/South America and Africa and locally roasts them.

If you're ever passing through SAT, head to Merit Coffee—it will definitely be a bright spot in your travels!

Finding a baker you can trust for any & every occasion is a game changer! I’ve been ordering from for years—whether it’s for the office celebration, book club meeting or a holiday party, she never misses! 🧁✨

From her signature cookies (the individual packaging is amazing!) to her shooters, cupcakes (boozy and non-boozy), and cakes, everything is 10/10. Anytime I host, I’m flooded with “Where did you get the banana pudding shooters?!” and “I need more of those strawberry cupcakes!” I even have guests place side orders for her to deliver to my events!

Stephanie recently outdid herself with this Grinch-inspired cake that my team had to have for a holiday table at our division party. It was a total showstopper and tasted even better than it looked. Also featured on the holiday table were mini bundt cakes from (Tucker) and cookies from (Midtown).
If you need a dessert pro, Step'n in tha Dough is the one. Treat yourself and your guests—you won’t regret it. 🎂🙌

My vacation group historically seeks the mountains during Fall or Spring Break. One of our Spring Break adventures brought us to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Our travel to the Smoky Mountains was purely about relaxation, but offers plenty of activities for adults seeking more of a balanced vacay, blending mountain scenery with exciting attractions, shopping, unique dining, and cozy lodging.

My ultimate Pigeon Forge itinerary includes grabbing a sunset selfie 200 feet up on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, visiting to view the replica of her childhood home and iconic butterfly mural, and taking a ride on the . I also recommend enjoying a T-Rex pizza and beer flight at Stone Mountain Brewery, the oldest brewery in East Tennessee, and taking in rooftop vistas with a craft cocktail at the .

The Joia Rose Hall is an all-adult, all-inclusive luxury hotel right on Montego Bay's beachfront. It is an AAA Four Diamond & is consistently voted a TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best. The resort complex is about 15-20 minutes from Sangster International Airport (MBJ).

Joia Rose Hall is all about R&R, high levels of comfort, and enjoying the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Amenities include:
spa & fitness center w/ indoor swimming pool;
7 themed restaurants (with 24-7 room service), offering Japanese, Surf and Turf, Italian, French, Jamaican, and an International buffet;
24-hour concierge services;
comprehensive daily entertainment calendar;
24-hour butler services with oceanfront suites and villas;
poolside Balinese beds are available at no charge;
non-motorized aquatic activities (kayaking, snorkeling, windsurfing) available at no additional charge.

The Cornwall buffet features daily spreads and stations you have to see to believe! In general, the dining at Joia Rose Hall is top-notch, and the customer service is even better. If you ask, they will make it happen with a smile!

The Rose Hall complex is made up of three all-inclusive resorts. The other resorts, Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites and Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach, are family-friendly. The hotels in the complex share a golf course, convention center, shopping center, spa with wet and dry areas (and a must-visit), nightclub, and fitness center with indoor fitness classes. Joia Rose Hall guests have access to most of the shared and individual amenities of all the hotels in the complex. Selection guests have access to selected amenities at the Waves resorts. Waves guests have access to only amenities at their resort. The beach area is considered public property.

I regularly visit the Joia Resorts in Riviera Maya, Punta Cana, and Jamaica because I can always count on superior service, delicious food, and a beautiful resort with amazing vistas!

Sandals Negril Beach Resort & Spa is famous for its relaxed, barefoot-chic atmosphere and its prime location on the legendary Seven Mile Beach. The all-adult, all-inclusive resort is specifically designed to hug the water's edge, placing nearly every room and amenity just steps from the pristine white sand and calm, turquoise waters. Sandals is a two-hour complimentary transfer from MBJ or a twenty-minute flight from MBJ to Negril Aerodrome, 0.5 miles from Sandals.

Sandals Negril features luxurious suite options, including beachfront walkouts, unique Swim-up Suites with direct pool access, and extravagant Skypool Suites, which feature panoramic views, spacious living and dining room areas, elevated infinity plunge pools, and rooftop terraces. Butler Elite and Club Concierge services are available in higher-tier suites. There are eight eateries ranging in cuisines from Caribbean, Japanese, Mediterranean, Seafood, Pizza, Tapas, Latin, and Cafe treats. The food was solid, but not as memorable as the food experiences I have had at other all-inclusives.

One of Sandals' strengths is the availability of motorized and non-motorized water sports included in the Luxury Included® experience, including waterskiing, wakeboarding, glass-bottom boating, aquatrikes, windsurfing, and scuba diving. Other amenities include the Red Lane® Spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and top-tier daily and nightly entertainment.

My husband and I stayed at Sandals Negril and attended an intimate on-site destination wedding. The gazebo was a beautiful location for the ceremony, and the Sandals team provided worry-free customer service for the wedding party.

Napoleon’s Grill is a food-focused neighborhood pub located in the Vista Grove Shopping Center in Decatur’s Oak Grove community.

My husband and I have driven by Napoleon’s countless times, so we were excited at the prospect of ordering from it during a recent DoorDash.

We did not have a bad bite! The Pimento Cheese Fritters were gooey and nicely fried, and everything goes well with red pepper jelly. My husband, a smoked wing connoisseur, enjoyed the smoky flavor of the 10-Piece Chicken Wings, which complemented the dry lemon pepper rub. My Deep South Pimento Cheese burger was well cooked and enjoyable, and the mashed potatoes had a great balance of garlic and butter (plus I love mashed potatoes with red skins). I am not a sliced tomato person, but the fried green tomato on the burger was tasty. And I had to fight my husband from stealing all of the sweet potato fries that came with the burger. They had the right touch of sweetness and were perfectly crisp.

I can’t wait to try their spinach artichoke dip, pub pot roast, and Oreo cheesecake in the near future! I hear Napoleon’s has a great patio with live music on many nights, so I look forward to mixing up in-person dining with DoorDashing in the future!

El Sol Tacos Food Truck is an Atlanta-area truck specializing in tacos and nachos. The truck was a featured vendor at a recent work conference near Stonecrest, giving me the opportunity to give them a try. El Sol offered a limited menu of three tacos (steak or chicken), three wings, and three chicken strips.,

I ordered two carne asada tacos and one chicken taco, while a colleague ordered the wings and fries. I appreciated their customer service, asking about our tortilla (flour or corn), cilantro, and onion preferences while having a variety of accompaniments (i.e., salsa, cheese).

The tacos were solid, and I enjoyed the salsa verde. The wings are larger than I anticipated but were well cooked and had a flavorful sauce.

I would definitely stop by their food truck in the future, as I love a taco! I am also intrigued by the sweet taco seen on their IG page.

Philly Cheesesteak Place is a no-frills, counter eatery celebrating the sandwich (specializing in hoagies, cheesesteaks, & burgers). The eatery is located in Morningside’s Cheshire Pointe Shopping Center, located at the intersection of Cheshire Bridge & Faulkner Roads & MARTA-accessible via the 27 bus.

During a recent DoorDash, my husband was craving a cheesesteak. He ordered the regular Cheese Chicken Cheesesteak w/ chicken, grilled onions, & cheese. I ordered a small Meatball Parmesan Sandwich w/ meatballs, pizza sauce, provolone, & parmesan cheese & add-ins of pepperoni & sweet peppers. Both sandwiches were super craveable, had ample amounts of protein & cheese, &were well seasoned.

I was really curious about other menu items, so I visited the eatery a week later to order a cheeseburger, chicken tenders, & fries. I knew the cheeseburger would be tasty once I saw the owner/cook chopping up ribeye on a flat-top in an eatery whose minimalist decor took a page from a prior decade. The food is cooked to order, and the owner wears all of the hats (cashier, cook, and expediter), so prepare to wait (it's worth it)! There is seating available; however, the restaurant does way more to-go orders.

After eating one of the better cheeseburgers I have had in Atlanta, I brought the chicken tenders home to my husband, who had just received a food delivery. After having one bite, my husband abandoned his original meal & devoured the chicken tenders. The fries were well seasoned, but I will ask the owner to make them crispier on my next visit.
