10 Food That Rocks tastes that get the chef’s kiss 😘! Taste of Atlanta’s Sandy Springs Food That Rocks was back last week and was better than ever with more tastes, live music, and activations! Here are our 10 favorites. Which would be yours?

Add to your date night rotation! 💨 🥩 🍝 The upscale Italian restaurant, Fum, now open in Star Metals in West Midtown is literal 🔥. John and I went for a recent date night and fell in love with the modern, circular decor, upscale vibes, open-air kitchen to watch the action, and even a dry aged room to cure their dry aged steaks! It is perfect for that special night out with your honey.

A few notes on the food below and what to get when you visit:
🍗 Focaccia with chicken liver mousse: this is a must try! It is fantastic, rich chicken liver that’s creamy with a sweet, earthy and deep balsamic drizzle paired with earthy parsley oil, can’t get over this dish!
🍝 Gnocchi. A dreamy dish that’s probably the best gnocchi I’ve ever had! It is super fluffy and light large pillowy gnocchi with a slight grill in the outside. Topped with a divine richly, cheesy Cacio e Pepe sauce that pairs perfectly with the tangy tomato and herby earthy oil. Wow!
🥂 Six sixty spritz is a take on a Hugo spritz with white vermouth with infused camomile tea, elderflower and lime. Prosecco on top.
🍐 Dry aged beef tartare is savory rich meat with an earthy herb emulsion, paired with crunchy Asian pears for sweet and herbs. Very balanced with creamy, sweet, rich flavors!
🥩 15-day dry aged New York Strip Steak is tender and rich in flavor, slight char on the outside and perfectly cooked, then doused in earthy, savory and flavorful truffle jus. It’s very good.
🍄‍🟫 AFM, crunchy fried oyster mushrooms with creamy cheese sauce and herby parsley oil, creamy and earthy and crunchy all at once!
🥜 PBNJ is boozy bourbon drink yet ends sweet, tastes like peanut butter and jelly fr!

Everything we indulged in ! 🥩 🍣 On our weekend staycation at the Loews Atlanta Hotel in midtown we indulged in some elevated eats and sultry sips from Ashland, the new steak and sushi restaurant and bar on-site.

Ashland: gorgeous circular bar in the center of the lobby greets you. Beside it are stunning of green booths, marble tables and drop lighting. In the dining room, you feel like you’re outside but with the luxuries inside.

🍱 Wednesday bento box: available at Wednesday lunch only. This box has: sashimi, maki, teriyaki salmon with rice, fried shrimp or vegetables, salad with ginger dressing, dessert: matcha flan. My favorites were the super fresh salmon sashimi and the sweet and savory teriyaki salmon.

🥩 The Loews is ready for FIFA World Cup with rotating specials like for Spain:
🇪🇸 Beef short rib croquettes
🫓 Skirt steak tapas

🥂 In-room amenities are spectacular like the two cocktails and charcuterie we got. The cocktails were Sour Atlanta and Fun Day comes with Prosecco. Then a domed charcuterie with macrons, meats, cheeses and crackers.

🍳 Brunch buffet at Ashland has all the brunch faves. The main draw for me is the make your own omelette, which I loved their omelet veggies! Plus, they have lox ingredients to make your own lox plate or bagel, the best cheesy grits, bacon and sausage, home fries, and a decadent pain au chocolate I enjoyed with my coffee!

Dinner at Ashland. Here are the top 4 bites, full review on blog soon:
🧅 Pork belly is tender and fatty, great rich au poivre sauce and fried onions on top.
🐟 Salmon tartare is light, fresh, buttery and melt in your mouth salmon. Salty red caviar, tons of flavors, crunchy wonton.
🍗 Half Chicken is tender and juicy with a sweet, savory sweet tea brine!
🥩 Australian Wagyu Black Opal Skirt Steak is charred outside and tender inside, well seasoned, so good with the herbaceous truffle butter, buttery lemony hollandaise or the rich au Poivre!
🍹 Also got: unagi sashimi, Garden of Ember and lychee Royale cocktails, brussels, cucumber salad.

PSA: you’ll want to same this your new Tuesday routine. ’s delightfully tasty Cacio e Pepe Parmesan reggiano cheese wheel only available on Tuesday night! 🍝 My niece and I went out for a gab session at Tre Vele in Sandy Springs last week to try their Tuesday pasta wheel and it was everything. Served table side it is a show! Thick and hearty house made noodles smothered in cream and loaded with cheese. Then, black pepper and earthy black truffle round out this dish! Yum!

And don’t miss out on a variety of other dinner menu items and creative cocktails as well:
🧀 Burrata: crunchy earthy tomatoes, basil, and dollops of herbaceous nut free pesto and sweet balsamic drizzle.
🍯 Honey whipped ricotta is sweet honey mixed with savory, creamy ricotta served along side warm house made pita. Pro tip: eat the caprese salad with the whipped ricotta for best bite.
🌱 Artichokes are my fave. Grilled and charred, tender and tangy artichokes with a crunchy herb crumb and a fantastic herbaceous salsa verde.
🍋 Limoncello spritz is bright a Limoncello, cool amaretto, and tart prosecco sipper.
🥩 Filet Mignon is tender, juicy, and flavorful steak with a divine rich and creamy mushroom Marsala wine sauce filled with earthy mushroom and tender pillowy gnocchi. This dish has so many flavors it it is a must try. Fave dish.
🫛 Spring pea risotto is tender risotto with creamy sauce and earthy peas.
🍸 Farfalla viola is a tangy and floral butterfly tea gin cocktail with italics and lemon then topped with creamy vegan foam.
