We are 2 chefs (Maria Aros and Wes Rosati) who met while at Lansdowne Resort. We opened the Wandering Chef with a desire to offer high quality catered foods and prepared meals. We both have an extensive catering background and believe catered food should be fresh and delicious. We often put together custom menus to meet our guests desires and we love creating seasonal menus. We do all kinds of events from drop off BBQs to full service weddings. You can also find us doing special events such as pairing dinners, lunches and cookouts at several local wineries (and Catoctin Creek Distillery!). We are also both parents who have struggled like so many busy parents do with putting a tasty, healthy dinner on the table. We created our Buyers Club with this in mind! This our no commitment email list, where you'll receive a menu link each friday. We take orders all weekend until Monday morning. On Tuesday you'll either pick up or have delivered (please email us to check delivery locations) freshly prepared, ready to reheat meals, soups, sides and salads! This makes weeknight meals a quick, delicious and easy event. We use primarily hormone and antibiotic free meats and about 70% organic vegetables. We cook from scratch and try to keep meals simple, fresh and delicious. To receive this menu weekly please email [email protected] with Buyers Club in the subject. Getting started on our 12 Gallons of Chili for this wwekend's cook off at Old Ox Brewery to support the Ashburn Volunteer Fire Rescue Department - AVFRD. Brisket is smoking and we are about to make our base of dried chiles (chipotle, ancho, pasilla, guajillo and arbol are pictured)! Rainy day got you down? How about some soup?! We've got extra quarts of Split Pea and Ham (Gluten Free and Dairy Free) and our Vegetable "Tortilla" Soup (Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Dairy Free). The Split Pea has organic vegetables, chunks of ham and is made with a scratch made stock. Had a great time at Old Ox Brewery yesterday for the Ashburn Volunteer Fire Rescue Department - AVFRD Chilly Days Fundraising event. Met lots of great people (estimated 500?!) and handed out about 14 gallons of chili in 2oz increments! We even took home some hardware. Congrats to the crew that makes our kitchen go: Jonathan, Bobby, and Kimmer on their now award winning chili! Its on the menu this week if you didn't get to try it! Our single most effective way to introduce our weekly meal service, "Fed", to more people has always been word of mouth. This time of year we love to offer folks willing to host or interested neighborhoods a free "dinner party". We'll bring samples of our soups, salads, entrees, and kids meals and you invite 10-15 people who may be interested in our service. We will introduce the food and the service and collect email addresses and you and your guests can enjoy a free chef prepared meal and a reason to get together and have some fun. Any takers?
