Are you living in fear? No joy, hope, or peace?
I wrote this for a friend and thought maybe others needed some encouragement.
What I’ve learned today is that the Bible says, if we love our own children we are not to spare the rod when disciplining them…God loves his children also.
Fearing God is not letting yourself be blinded by money, selfish desires, or worldly fear. If money is the root of evil, is it your driver? It was the root of my selfish drive. If God wasn’t going to take care of me then I would step in, because I didn’t trust him. I trusted him a lot but not 100%. What good is a shield with a crack down the middle of it? If you can trust God then you will not be fearful and the bumps in the road will shape you. Life is going to be challenging regardless, it’s the perspective God can give you that helps to learn and deal with situations.
We are all selfish, God wants you to look outward. The Devil is a liar and he wants you to feel sorry for yourself and inward. God wants to make you better and to grow.
If we are shrouded then we can’t see God’s plan.
Matthew 6:26. Says, “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
Do you have faith that God will provide or are you fearful. Fearing God is trusting him. God will take care of you if you put your trust in him and don’t live a life of fear. God speaks through the Bible. Read it daily. “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Jesus quotes this. Are you not getting answers, do you want to hear God but he seems distant? Read the Bible. If you want advice on what to read, let me know.
It will give you encouragement, hope, and knowledge. God wants you to be less emotional and more head strong and knowledgeable. Pray that God will help you to trust him.
My dad, Dennis Hansen told me to read 3 different parts of the Bible. A section from a gospel chapter (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John), one section from a wisdom chapter(Proverbs or Psalms), and any one random section in the Bible. Take notes on what jumps out at you from all three and see if there’s any similarities. This is a deep way of studying to hear what God is trying to tell you. Start small if you need and work your way up. You will get hungry for it the more you do it. It feeds your soul. The fruit will come with it.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Don’t those sound so nice? This is what ur missing, ur fruit. Reconnect and trust.
If you don’t know what to do or how to think, then ask God to help with that too. Go to a quiet place and pour out your soul before God. The good, bad and the ugly. Be honest with him. He can restore you once you figure out what it is that you’re holding onto that the devil is tricking you about.
Scripture is a weapon used to fight the devil. He is attacking us all. Jesus used it to fight the devil off. Use it to fight. For example, if you are tempted to lie, quote to the devil, “it is written, thou shalt not lie.”
Read Ephesians 6:10-18 the armor of God. Sword of the word of God.
Keep in touch and give me encouragement also. We are not here for our own pleasure, we are here to help those who are hurting and lift them up. Only those who have been in the same situations can relate. Imagine a time in the future when God has granted you peace and thank him in advance for that because it is coming your way.
Imagine pulling someone out of the same feelings that ur having, that is what should drive you. He will never leave you or forsake you. “and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Life is too short. Don’t be tricked anymore be led by the Good Shepard.
