Meet Lola, our console record player. Lilly bought her with her very first paycheck ever when she was 12, and now Lola gets to be enjoyed by everyone who walks through our doors. ❤️

Pick out a record from our collection, and if you’ve never used a record player like this before, just ask one of our baristas—we’re always happy to help you get a vinyl spinning.

We’re spending this evening getting the coffeehouse ready for Anoka Riverfest traffic tomorrow! We know traffic across the river can be a little hectic, but if you’re heading downtown to shop hundreds of fun vendors, stop by before for a coffee to fuel your day—or swing in for a break to cool off in the A/C, relax in one of our lounge chairs, and listen to your favorite album.

We are genuinely humbled and grateful to be recognized in the Coffee and Coffee House category, and this honor belongs to our incredible team — and to the many people not pictured who have poured their hearts into making Compassion Coffee what it is.

We also want to take a moment to honor Lillian Pringle, our Operations Director, who is the heartbeat of Compassion Coffee. She is in the coffeehouse day in and day out, leading with grace, and embodies what it means to truly live out compassion for every person who walks through our doors.

This recognition belongs to everyone who has walked through our doors, pulled up a chair, and chosen to spend their time and money at a place that exists for more than just a great cup of coffee. There are moments that remind you why this work matters. A few weeks ago, our gala was one of them.

Because of the people in that room — and so many of you cheering from afar — we raised over $33k to launch Grounds for Growth this fall, a workforce training program that will equip people affected by homelessness with real skills and a real future.

These little beauties are made and generously donated by a member of our community, and they are one of the things we get asked about constantly — but they always seem to disappear so quickly! We just got a new delivery in today, so if you’ve been waiting for one, grab it while you can 🤍

Last Thursday we shared something that's been on our hearts — the idea of bringing the conversation about homelessness in Anoka off the comment section and into community. Nearly 100 of you let us know you were interested, and we're grateful for that more than we can say!

We're moving forward. Compassion Conversations will be a monthly gathering at the coffeehouse where city and county leaders, local nonprofits, and community members can come together to listen, learn, and work toward real solutions for our unhoused neighbors. These conversations will be hosted and led by Compassion Coffee. Drinks are on us.

Our first conversation is Thursday, July 30th from 6:30–8:30pm. Space is limited to 30 people each month to keep the conversations focused and productive, so we encourage you to register soon. Please limit to registering for one event for now so everyone has an opportunity to make it to an in-person event. We're also planning to live stream each conversation on Facebook and YouTube.

There's been a lot of conversation online recently about homelessness in the Anoka area. Homelessness in the suburbs is closer to home than many realize — and the conversation around it deserves more than a comment section.

We're considering hosting an evening at the coffeehouse to bring that conversation off-line and into community. Drinks are on us.

What to expect:

We're working to bring together voices from the City of Anoka, Anoka County, and local nonprofits doing this work — to share data and ground-level insights on suburban homelessness in our area. From there, we'll open the floor for discussion around one of the harder questions: what does it actually look like to show genuine compassion while also holding space for accountability?
