We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Baker to join our team. This is a part-time role averaging 25 hours per week (Monday to Saturday). In this position, you will assist with daily scratch baking operations, focusing closely on lamination and pastry production (croissants, Danish pastries, and puff pastry). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with foundational kitchen experience or culinary training who wants to hone their technical skills under experienced bakers.

Responsibilities & Duties

Lamination & Shaping: Assist in rolling, laminating, and shaping doughs. Learn to safely operate and maintain the commercial dough sheeter.
Mixing & Prep: Scale, weigh, and mix raw ingredients accurately according to established recipes. Prepare fresh fillings, glazes, and creams.
Dough Management: Monitor dough proofing, fermentation times, and temperature settings to maintain consistency.
Baking & Oven Operations: Safely load and unload commercial ovens, monitoring bake times to ensure a perfect golden crust.
Kitchen Sanitation: Keep workstations clean, sanitized, and organized. Follow all local health department rules and First-In, First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation standards.
Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Previous professional baking experience or formal culinary/pastry training is highly preferred. Basic familiarity with laminated doughs is a plus.
Technical Skills: Strong attention to detail, basic understanding of weights/measures, and ability to follow recipes precisely.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for the duration of a shift, perform repetitive shaping movements, and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Schedule: Reliable transportation to arrive for the 6:00 AM shift. Ability to work weekends and holiday production cycles as needed.

WE ARE HIRING a Barista / Front of House Team Member.
We are looking for a high-energy, efficient Barista to join our fast-paced bakery team. You will be the face of our shop, crafting excellent coffee drinks and serving fresh baked goods while managing a busy, fast-moving morning rush.

What You Will Do:
Craft Quality Drinks: Pull consistent espresso shots, steam milk perfectly, and prepare our full menu of specialty coffee and tea beverages.
Serve with Speed: Efficiently take guest orders, pack bakery items, and process payments while keeping the service line moving.
Maintain the Floor: Keep the espresso bar, pastry cases, and dining area meticulously clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Welcome Guests: Provide warm, friendly, and proactive customer service even during peak, high-volume hours.

What We Are Looking For
Fast-Paced Experience: At least 1 year of barista or high-volume food service/retail experience is preferred.
Speed & Accuracy: Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and remain calm under pressure during heavy morning rushes.
Team Player: Strong communication skills and a reliable, positive attitude.
Flexible Schedule: Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

The bakery held its last day of business at original spot, located a couple of blocks away at 924 W. Walnut St., in mid-June.
