Grandma's Pies & Restaurant

Hi everyone! We just want to write a post and give thanks to all the employees for the amazing work they did this Thanksgiving.
We would also like to give a special thanks to Ron, one more time for his professional amazing work, and to Dave who put up the Christmas decorations on Thanksgiving Day! This guy puts in so much love and hard work to be able to make Grandma’s look so beautifully decorated. We LOVE YOU DAVE!!
And last but not least, and the definitely most important let me give a huge thank you to the customers for the patience they had these past few days. Even when someone took their reserved pie by mistake without knowing they were from the reserved section, and when they ended up having to wait a little while for us to bake a new pie.
We learned a lot this Thanksgiving season! In the years past Sue, one of our waitresses, does the cards up front which have all the names of the preorders. She couldn’t this day because her mother was sick in the hospital, which is understandable because our parents are always our priority.
Even though it was a crazy and chaotic day, my Thanksgiving day was fulfilled when we dropped off pies at the City Mission and they were so happy to have our pies to celebrate Thanksgiving.
We just want to give a huge thank you to everyone, we apologize to the ones who weren’t satisfied or happy. It was a stressful time and we promise to get better. It’s what we owe our loyal customers and wonderful employees.

We’ll see everyone next year!

Happy Holidays
Love, Grandma’s.

Copied from a post Today, I went to Grandma's Pies & Restaurant to purchase pies for my family for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I'd like to say today, what happened there, was appalling. It was complete madness, but not because it was so crowded. It was because of the organization, or lack of rather, and the employees with no clue as to what was going on (I get it, when it's crazy busy you can be frazzled)...but the one thing that bothered me the most? The complete and utter disrespect the woman owner had for the customers, and how horribly she treated them! It was disgusting. Especially towards one cute little elderly woman and her husband, who were nothing but respectful, sweet and understanding the whole time. Even though, they had pre-ordered their pies weeks in advance. Even though you sold them and your cashier told her they sold out and told her it didn't matter basically that she pre-ordered, and reserved a time, bc "it happens". .. and even though she agreed to wait another half an hour for you to make her a new pie.... You still had the audacity to speak down on her and then throw a temper tantrum in front of the packed restaurant to say things like, "I hope you're all happy now, because of you after this holiday we will close our doors permanently" or that it was "you people that ruined it" "you people caused this" "are you happy now, your beloved grandma's will be gone forever" and when I respectfully explained to you that people are upset because they ordered ahead of time and made appointments and you blatantly sold their orders... During which you proceeded to cut me off and raise your voice to yell that we "were all whiny babies, wah wah" while you made crying gestures over your eyes over and over as well as screaming that you have rent to pay... And then asked if we knew how much you made in the year since you bought the restaurant? To which you sent on to say ZERO while hold O gestures up to everyone. And continued to blame US for your failed business, your failed customer service, and YOU running your company into the ground. If this is how you treat loyal customers, I can only imagine how you treat your employees!!! This behavior is absolutely DISGUSTING for a customer service business, ESPECIALLY the owner of the establishment. That is not how you run a business, how you treat customers, let alone PEOPLE when they have shown you nothing but respect and did not become abusive like you were to them. No, the customer is not always right, but in this case? You messed up, BIG time. All of this probably could have been dealt with in a more compassionate way! More understanding.... I get it, holidays are stressful in customer service.... But you don't act that way! Not to customers, or people in general unless they deserve it! And they didn't deserve the way you treated them! I did not even hear ONE apology... Not ONE I'm sorry from any of the employees or you AT ALL. All you did was make everyone uncomfortable, upset and walk out! So needless to say, after this wonderful back and forth today, I will no longer be going to Grandma's, and sadly La Fiesta since you apparently own that establishment too. It was a mistake for the old owner to sell to such a miserable disgusting excuse of a person.
