After a tremendous amount of deliberation and soul-searching, I have made the decision to close The Coffee Pot Café in its current incarnation. Eighteen months ago I set out to build a welcoming community space which embraces artists and creative people alike. I have been passionate about helping the homeless and less fortunate in our community as well. With your help I have accomplished those goals, however, I have reached the limit of aide and support that I can offer from this location and venture.
As we near the end of our lease on July 31, I needed to make the difficult decision to continue and stagnate or refocus my efforts on the community that we have built together. There are some exciting new projects that I am working to complete before the end of summer and I promise you they will be bigger and better than anything we have done at The Coffee Pot Café.
I have reached out to all of the artists that are currently on display and ask that they make arrangements to collect their artwork before the end of July. There will be other opportunities in the coming months to display their art in Akron and I will work with all of them to see that happen.
I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the community of supporters that have been with me on this journey and assure you that the journey has not ended, it has only changed direction with more focus to be made on the artists and creative people and less on the restaurant aspect.
