**Cheeky Don turns 3 today 🎂**
Three years ago, Cheeky Don began as a humble home-based kitchen. Today, we’re preparing to take a big step forward — transitioning into our **first commercial flagship restaurant**. Thank you for believing in us and walking this journey together.
We’d also like to share a small update from the heart.
Our shop opening will be **slightly delayed**. (Probably after CNY holiday) This has nothing to do with our wonderful landlord or contractor. The reason is a little more personal, and very important to us.
As a young F&B startup, the labour crunch is very real. Full-time hands are hard to come by, especially in the early days. But in this challenge, we found something unexpectedly beautiful.
More than **50% of our future team will be nonnas and grandpas**, some over the age of 74. Through word of mouth (and yes, mahjong kakis 😄), they’ve come forward to help us bring our first restaurant to life. They don’t mind standing long hours, and they bring with them patience, warmth, and decades of lived experience.
Because of this, we want to do things properly.
We’re taking extra time to create a **safer, more comfortable working environment** for them. Flexible hours, proper benefits, and thoughtful shift planning. When possible, we’ll pair them with younger team members to help with more physically demanding tasks like lifting and carrying. We’ll be treating them the way we’d treat our own nonnas and grandpas.
So dear friends and future customers, we kindly ask for a little patience with our opening. And when we do open our doors, we hope you’ll be patient with us too. Our nonnas and grandpas will be doing their very best to prepare your meals with their **time, love, and care**, one don at a time.
