📍 Akimitsu @ Plaza Singapura
Prior to this, I had somehow never tried Akimitsu before despite walking past it countless times. So when le bf said he had a tendon craving when we were at PS, I gladly agreed to try this out!
I must say I was surprised at the price because it’s much more affordable than I expected for J*p food in town!
🍤 Signature Tendon $14.90
(Choice of Asakusa Original Sauce or Spicy Sauce) & comes with a side of beansprouts, radish & miso soup
This included: 2 prawns, 1 huge fish fillet, 1 slice of sweet potato, 1 slice of pumpkin, 1 large chunk of eggplant, 2 long beans, 1 mushroom, 1 seaweed, 1 onsen egg & rice.
My ranking: Fish which was really tender; Pumpkin which was sweet and soft; Brinjal was very yummy; Long Beans which were crunchy!!; Prawns were decent; Onsen Egg was surprisingly very runny despite the tempura crust; Sweet Potato was not too bad; Mushroom was rather dry; Seaweed was very crisp but also very dry.
Overall, it was a really decent bowl of tendon especially for the price. The flour in my opinion is on the thicker side, albeit very crunchy. But I personally prefer much a lighter batter with a fluffier texture!

You can also change your miso soup to a mini bowl of udon for $3! The udon was so-so, but is a really good option for people who want to fill up on more carbs on top of rice 🍚
