Thick canopy covering one of the areas where we have tea growing in harmony with the forest here in the mountains of Northern Thailand 💚🌳
Growing tea in the shade of a forest may not as efficient as growing it in a monoculture plantation in the sun, but doing things this way has its benefits. When producing tea together with its surroundings, we don’t need to use any pesticides, fertilisers or irrigation systems as all of this is given to us by nature for free.
In a healthy ecosystem, these services are provided by animals, plants and fungi working together to make sure that life, and in our case tea, continues to thrive. The more tea we sell, the more communities and areas we can work with to produce tea grown in this way, therefore making sure that we can protect more nature and more biodiversity.
We see it as a win-win-win situation where diverse habitats stay protected, local communities can earn a living without destroying the nature surrounding their homes, and our customers around the world can enjoy a more natural product 💚
