Got a damn good review in Heavy Underground...Google Translate did the work today. "It took 30 years for Malmö's Flegma to deliver another plate. But what a record it is! If you like hardcore, thrash and Wolfbrigade, you should prick up your ears here, because whether you like it or not, Flegma will prick them up anyway with "Dead angel abyss".

The first thing that strikes me is how extremely well produced this is without sounding contrived. It's a musty heavy sound on the guitars and drums. Crossover has rarely sounded as good as this. Then we have the music itself, which offers many magical moments where one fantastic thrash riff after another is layered on top of each other. Flegma is at its best when it's mid-tempo and you hear nice little Slayer loops woven together with brutal riffs that it's impossible not to shake your head a little to.

We got a really good review in Sydsvenskan, south Swedens biggest daily newspaper, today....review by Jonn Palmér Jeppsson. I translated in bad swenglish. "An idea for a new playful TV-show: Let celebrities on prime time listen to Flegmas three studio albums and then guess which album was released 1992, 1994 or 2024. Astonished participants will hear experts tell them what details to listen for to be sure to get "Dead Angels Abyss" as the new album, despite an impressive layer of patina.

Title and cover? Old school enough. Sound? Thirty years between recordings is normally easy to spot, but here it´s not obvious. It´s basically an unpretentious mix of thrash, death metal and Discharge-punk as delivered on their debut, with 90-ies style dark lyrics and a splash of church organs and horror movie samples.

The singer Kalle sounds as pi**ed now as then. The songs being shorter and more effective now is a fact but it´s nothing you think of in the heat of the moment.

In the end Flegma gives themselves away by adding two authentic 90-ies recordings on the album.
The rough "Ultra Bizarre" which would make Fröken Snusk blush and the gothic "Moth To The Flame" which screams teenage sins from a far. It sounds like time has been standing still in a good way."
