Did you know that hotels can modify reviews on platforms like Booking.com and TripAdvisor before they go live? With the Porte app, customers can leave a review after each service and even before they check out. This gives hoteliers a chance to improve their clients' impressions before they leave.

In 2023, TripAdvisor removed over 2 million biased reviews, the most ever. Four out of five of these reviews were caught before they even appeared on the site. TripAdvisor found that businesses often offer something valuable to get people to write a review, which makes the review less credible.

These incentives can include things like a free cookie, a hotel room upgrade, entry into a raffle, or even an employee reward like a day off. TripAdvisor bans reviews that are linked to such incentives.

In October 2023, Michelin introduced a rating system for hotels. Hotels are judged on:
- Contribution to the local experience
- Architecture and interior design
- Service quality, comfort, and maintenance
- Unique personality and character
- Value for money

Barbie's campaign last year was a hit, featuring a Fairmont Hotels & Resorts suite with Barbie Dream Concierge, BFF (Best Furry Friend), and special cocktails. Now, Motel 6 has partnered with the upcoming "The Garfield Movie" and appointed Garfield as their First-Ever Chief Pet Officer.

LG and Apple are developing a hotel TV with AirPlay technology, announced by Apple at its Worldwide Developers Conference in 2023. IHG Hotels & Resorts is the first to adopt it. Each room has a unique QR code for privacy. When guests check out, their connection is erased to keep content secure.

As finalists of the Aurora Tech Award, we had a mentoring session with Egor Fedorov, COO at inDrive.
Egor oversees strategy, marketing, and operations in over 700 cities, including our focus areas in Central Asia and the MENA regions. His roles in the Forbes Council, American Marketing Association, and Interactive Advertising Bureau give him a broad perspective that's invaluable to us.
Mentor-mentee selection goes both ways, and we are pleased that Egor selected us to mentor, Egor already knew a lot about Porte prior to our session and gave us targeted advice to help us grow.
We're motivated by his willingness to share his expertise and look forward to applying his strategies.
