These walls have witnessed centuries of Lisbon’s history. 😍

Legend says Dona Rosa, a Spanish noblewoman and lover of King D. José I, once lived in this palace. After the 1755 earthquake, the King ordered the reconstruction of the chapel, preserving the original azulejos that still cover these walls today.

Now, between restored tiles, candlelight and the sound of Fado, history continues to live on inside Mesa de Frades.

Estas paredes testemunharam séculos da história de Lisboa.

Conta a lenda que Dona Rosa, de origem espanhola e amante do Rei D. José I, viveu neste palácio. Após o terramoto de 1755, o Rei ordenou a reconstrução da capela, preservando os azulejos originais que ainda hoje revestem estas paredes.

Hoje, entre os painéis restaurados, a luz das velas e o som do Fado, a história continua viva dentro da Mesa de Frades.
