Date: 20 August 2026
We deeply regret to inform you that Mrs. Asma Mushtaq, holder of Pakistani CNIC No. 35202-1019052-0, born on 07 February 1992, participated in a climbing expedition on Spantik (7,027 m) in the Karakoram Range of Pakistan.
- Permit No.: PAK-06
- Mountain Guide: Akbar Ali
- Expedition Guide: Muhammad Amin
Mrs. Asma Mushtaq successfully reached the summit of Spantik in good health, accompanied and supported by her mountain guide Akbar Ali.
Unfortunately, during the descent at approximately 6,400 meters, she suffered a serious incident related to high-altitude sickness.
Following the accident, her mountain guide Akbar Ali, together with another mountain guide, immediately provided their best possible assistance and support. They made every possible effort to help her and keep her safe under extremely difficult high-altitude conditions.
Despite their efforts and all possible assistance provided at the point of the accident, sadly, Mrs. Asma Mushtaq could not survive.
Karakoram Calling Treks deeply appreciates the courage, dedication, and efforts of the mountain guides who remained with her and did everything within their ability during this tragic situation.
We are coordinating with the relevant authorities and the family regarding the necessary next steps and arrangements.
On behalf of Karakoram Calling Treks, we extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Mrs. Asma Mushtaq during this extremely difficult time.
May her soul rest in peace.
