Nobody tells women this before they open a business in Karachi.

Starting a business is already hard.

But when you’re a woman running a café, sometimes the business itself isn’t even the hardest part.

It’s dealing with people who don’t know how to respect boundaries.

You can be working.
You can be minding your own business.
You can be respectful.
You can be focused on your customers and your work.

And still, there are moments when you realize that being a woman in business means you have to be strong enough to stand your ground.

Sometimes you feel like you need a whole group of girls beside you.
Sometimes you feel like you need people around you just so certain men think twice before crossing a line.

And that’s the part people don’t see when they look at a woman-owned café.

They see the lights.
The food.
The reels.
The Instagram page.

They don’t see everything that comes with simply trying to build something of your own.

We’re not saying every man is like this.

We’re talking about the ones who make women feel like they need protection just to work peacefully.

This is not about wanting special treatment.

It’s about wanting the same basic respect that anyone deserves while trying to earn a living and build a business.

And yes, this is something we are actually facing while building Hers Café.

We’re still here.
Still working.
Still building.
Still standing. ❤️

Because we didn’t open Hers Café just to prove that women can run a business.

We opened it because we believed we could build something of our own.

And we’re not letting anyone make us feel like we don’t belong in the space we worked so hard to create.

We built it. We opened the doors. Now we’re waiting to see who walks through them. ❤️

Hers Café is ours — built with our own hands, our own effort, and a lot of patience.

And lately, something beautiful has been happening.

People are coming back.
Bringing others with them.
Recommending us.
And some even stop to ask:

“Is there anything we can help you with?” 🥹

That kind of support is something we never take for granted.

So to everyone who has walked through our doors, come back, recommended us, or simply believed in what we’re building —

thank you. You’re helping turn our café into something bigger than we imagined. 🤍

September really said: “Let’s test your patience.” 😭😂

Because honestly… the whole month went by with barely a customer in sight.

And then today happened. 🥹❤️

A customer brought someone along.
Someone said, “I tried your food before.”
Someone else said, “I was recommended this place.”

To someone else, these might sound like normal things.

To us?

After an entire September of waiting… this felt HUGE. 🥹

Maybe this is what growth actually looks like —
not thousands of people overnight,
but one person coming in, then bringing another.

So yes… today, for the first time in a while, we looked around and thought:

“Okay… something is happening.” ❤️

We’re still far from where we want to be.
But we’re getting there — one customer, one recommendation, one day at a time.
