We need to prioritise our own languages in our respective regions. News in Northern Luzon should be in Ilocano. Lets support regional languages in media and protect linguistic diversity across the entire archipelago. Let's not forget that Language is the root of culture. When we lose it, We lose who we are. Saan a masapul nga isakripisyo tayo ti pagsasao para iti "National Language ". Saan tayo a Tagalog. Ilaban tayo bukod a pagsasao tayo para iti masakbayan.
Legal basis: The 1987 Constitution recognises regional languages as auxiliary official languages. RA 7104 created the Komisyon sa wikang Filipino to develop and preserve other Philippine languages not replace them with Tagalog.
* Cognitive benefits: Children learn faster and understand critical issues better when taught in their mother tongue first, UNESCO backs this.
* Media legitimacy: When a language is absent from TV, radio and news, Younger generations see it as "unimportant" or "provincial". Putting on Ilocano on-air tells kids. Your language matters.
* Economic angle: Local language media builds local.economies. It reaches farmers, fisherfolks and elders who think and decide in Ilocano not Tagalog.
Unity through diversity: Promoting regional languages doesn't divide the country. It reflects the real Philippines ' multilingual multicultural country. One country with many voices.
