Reality of Autism

This is one of those days…

Hindi ito laging kalmado.
Hindi ito laging milestones.

Kay Gabby, ang frustration minsan bigla…
kapag hindi niya mailabas ang nararamdaman niya,
lumalabas ito sa behavior.

Hindi ito tantrum.
Hindi ito being spoiled.

Ito ay communication.

Minsan alam namin ang sagot, pero mas madalas, hindi.
Pero parating nandito para iguide lang sya palagi.

Autism is not always visible,
pero araw-araw itong totoo.

Autism is not just milestones and cute moments.

Kasama rin ang hard days.
At doon mas kailangan ang awareness, empathy, at suporta. 🤍

Before, sign language muna.

Now, slowly we’re introducing verbal cues.
Kay Gabby, communication is taught step by step.
Hindi biglaan, walang pilitan.

We start by pairing signs with simple words..
para matutunan niyang humingi, mag-express, at makipag-communicate in a way he is comfortable.

For kids on the spectrum, verbal cues help connect actions to words.

Paulit-ulit, consistent, at may kasamang patience.

Autism is not about lack of ability…. Instead,
it’s about learning differently.

At bawat maliit na progress, sobrang laki na.
