Raising Ph15,000 for 1,500kg of scrap meat.

Some nights, we stay awake wondering how we will feed everyone the next day.
💔
Running an animal shelter is not easy. Every single day is a battle against hunger, unpaid bills, lack of supplies, and exhaustion. But despite all the struggles, we continue because we cannot bear to see these rescued dogs and cats suffer again.

Today, we received a blessing - another meat donation again coming all the way from Cavite. this means full bowls, strength to survive, and one less day of hunger.
Many of our rescues came from heartbreaking situations. Some were abandoned like trash, some were starving on the streets, while others were sick, weak, and close to giving up on life. The shelter became their second chance, their safe place, their home.

Every feeding time, they run to us with excitement, wagging tails and hopeful eyes, not knowing how hard we struggle behind closed doors just to make sure they can eat. And honestly, there are days when we no longer know where to find help.
Right now, our biggest challenge is the transportation cost to bring this donated meat to the shelter.

We need to raise Ph15,000. Without it, this blessing may never reach the hungry animals waiting for their next meal.
We are humbly begging for your help once again. Any amount, no matter how small, can help bring food to our shelter.

Please help us bring this food home to them. 🙏🐾❤️

Please be advised that we are entering a period of Global Depression which means great economic hardship for everyone. I recommend that you fix your employment and finances this early so that you will be able to prepare. God bless us all.

Sana mapansin niyo po kami 🙏🏻

It has been days since our post barely reach many engagements. It is very challenging for us to seek help for our rescued animals.

We just want to be honest with you about how difficult our situation has become.

We are currently taking care of more than 350 rescued animals- cats, dogs, and farm animals. Every single day, it’s not just about feeding them. There’s cleaning, medications, emergencies, check-ups, and attending to each one… it never stops. All of them depend on us.

Since moving them to a permanent shelter, our expenses have increased significantly. Until now, construction is still not finished. There are still important structures we need to complete to make their space safe and livable. These cannot be delayed, so the costs continue to rise.

To be honest… we are really struggling.

When food and supplies fall short, we do our best to cover the gap using all of our resources even if it costs us to borrow money, just to make sure no animal goes hungry. There are times when we have to carefully prioritize expenses- whether for food, rent, or utilities, because our current funds aren’t always enough to cover everything at once

Here are the urgent expenses we need to cover right now:

• ₱80,000 – wet food for cats, rice for dogs and pellets for farm animals
• ₱30,000 – shelter rent (already 2 days overdue)
• ₱50,000 – payment for the shelter (rent-to-own)

These are separate from veterinary expenses, construction costs, and helper salaries.

We are exhausted, to be honest. But we cannot stop. There are 350 lives depending on us every day.

That’s why we are reaching out to you now. Even a small amount of help would mean so much and will go a long way in helping us continue caring for them.

Thank you very much for any support you can give. 🙏🏻

Happy Valentine's Day to all my friends and family!

Hi everyone. Are you a beginner in English who wants to be tutored? I am a writing instructor in preply.com who specializes in teaching beginners (both children and adults). If you need to learn English and have the patience to keep learning in a writing class, you may look for me in preply.com so that I can tutor you.

My rate is $5 per session. I presently have 4 students who are regulars in my classes. I would like it if more students signed up for my classes. I teach on Saturdays and Sundays (both US time) in preply.com. So if you want to take a chance on me, that would be great! Looking forward to hearing from you.

This must be why my sister insisted that I stop buying ham slices for my ham and cheese sandwiches years ago. Little did I know she was actually saving my life by being "weird" (my thoughts when she would scold me about it.)

So what does 2025 hold then for all of us?

Well, first of all, there will still be work here in the Philippines, both for on-site and remote workers, because Filipino workers have the right skills and charge less than their foreign counterparts. That's our advantage. As long as we keep working regularly and keep getting paid regularly (because those are two different steps) then we have a fighting chance at life.

Second, we have to be more careful about our resources. This means making the most out of each opportunity without unnecessary wastage. So that includes not wasting food (yes, guilty as charged); not wasting money, time and effort; and not wasting relationships.

Third, we have to keep looking for more work as much as we can. So, if your contract is for the next six months then make sure you have new work at least a month before your contract ends. Don't leave anything up to chance! Get into talks with your alternative employer that early so that if you have to replace them you can easily do so.

Fourth, create an emergency fund as much as possible. My mother counseled me, her being a CPA before, to set aside 50% of my monthly income in my emergency fund. I'll go her one better: I will use that 50% to put into MP2 of PAGIBIG FUND and lock it in for five years. Then I will put in whatever is left over, after payments to creditors and setting aside some for my daily survival, into my current bank account just to have something for my regular savings.

Five, if you can, get insurance. I used to work as a life insurance financial advisor so I know how to do that. I can read life insurance policies and know what the terms mean. Interestingly, I bought a cremation plan first though. I just have to keep up with the payments.

Sixth, band together with loyal kin and friends regarding financial accountability. This is just like working out your body - you will probably find it easier to stick to your disciplined financial plans if you have friends and family to nag you about it. Of course, just be careful that they are also disciplined in their work and financial activities. You wouldn't want to bond with someone who just wants your wealth, and not you.

Seventh, ask God for help and help God also. That means praying about your financial plans as much as you can to gain wisdom. But don't forget to provide alms to his church and to the poor as well. Almsgiving and charity work are part of worship and should always be factored in, depending on how much you are earning at the time.

This way, even though the world will experience a Global Depression and famine for years (two years for the GD and seven years for the famine) you will be more ready than your peers. God willing, we will be able to survive what the future holds because we chose to prepare.
