Our CSO Desk Office Staff joins the 2026 2nd General Membership Meeting and 3rd Technical Seminar of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) – Ormoc-Kananga Chapter held today, September 19, 2026, at Sutuwaki Restaurant, Ormoc City.

The activity featured chapter updates, the election of the 2027 Chapter Board of Trustees, and a technical seminar on “Weld Overlay Cladding Applications for Various Industries” by Engr. Michael Tayactac, PME.

Today, the Ormoc City People’s Council (OCPC) joined hands with various partners, stakeholders, civic organizations, and community volunteers in the 2026 Ormoc City Coastal Cleanup, in observance of the 41st International Coastal Cleanup.

More than a cleanup activity, today’s gathering is a reminder that protecting our environment is a shared responsibility. Through collective action and stronger partnerships, we can keep our coastlines clean and help build a more sustainable and resilient Ormoc City.

Strengthening Citizen Participation for Inclusive Governance! 🤝🇵🇭

Members of the Ormoc City People’s Council (OCPC) participated in Project BIsIG: Building Stronger Partnerships and Strengthening Citizen Participation for Inclusive Co-Creation and Sustained Collaboration on Public Financial Management, held on September 17–18, 2026 at the Leyte Convention Complex, Palo, Leyte.

The activity brought together institutions and stakeholders to strengthen transparency, accountability, participation, and collaboration in public financial management.

The OCPC remains committed to empowering civil society and ensuring that the voices of Ormocanons are meaningfully represented in governance and development.

This year’s theme, "𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒅𝒔: 𝑪𝑺𝑶𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒕𝒉", highlights the vital role of Civil Society Organizations in driving positive change, community empowerment, and sustainable development in the City of Ormoc.

Today, September 3, 2026, the DILG Region 8 led a Coordination through Mr. Jervis Neil dela Cruz and Mr. Cyril Ignacio, conducted a coordination meeting on the Open Government Partnership (OGP) at the DILG Conference Room, Good Governance Building, Ormoc City.

The activity brought together representatives from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), LGU Offices, DILG Ormoc, and City Councilor Hon. Tomas Serafica to champion transparency, accountability, and active public engagement in local governance.

A key highlight of today's discussion was setting the direction for the Ormoc Flagship Program, targeted for submission on September 13, 2026.
