October starts today, and this is the month to get your Christmas order sorted.

The four weeks go like this.

This week, decide whether you're doing client gifts, staff gear, or both, and put a number on it.
Next week, get your logo files over to us. We quote and shortlist.
Mid October, sign off the artwork proof.
Late October, order goes in while suppliers still have room to take it.

Do it in that order and November is just waiting on a courier. Leave it and you're picking from whatever's left in the catalogue.

If you ship anything, December is your biggest month out the door. It's also the month half your suppliers shut for three weeks.

So have a look at what you've actually got on the shelf. Tape, stretch film, protective packaging, shipping labels, strapping. Running out of tape on the 18th of December is a real problem and it is completely avoidable.

Nine times out of ten what slows a branded order down is the artwork sitting in somebody's inbox. Not the printing.

Four things to send us and it moves straight away.

1. Your logo as a vector file. EPS, AI, PDF or SVG. A screenshot off your website won't print.
2. A one colour version. Embroidery and single colour print both need it.
3. Your brand colours. Pantone if you've got them, hex if you haven't.
4. Roughly how many, and what you want to spend. Per person is fine, we work backwards from there.

Send those four and we can have a quote and a shortlist back to you in a day or two. Twelve weeks out, so there's still room to get it right rather than rushing it.

Most people pick one thing and put a logo on it. A drink bottle, or a cap. That works fine. For the same money though you can do three smaller things as a pack, and it lands a lot better when someone opens it.

Something to drink from. Something to carry it in. Something they'll actually use. We've got 292 drinkware options, 351 bags and totes, plus tech, tools and caps to finish it off.

The question we get asked most is what should I spend per person.

Around $10 gets you pens, keyrings and notebooks. $25 gets caps, totes and drink bottles. $50 and up gets insulated flasks, tech and decent tool kits.

Work out your headcount and pick a number. That bit takes longer than you think. Send it through with your logo and we'll come back with three options and what they cost landed.

Three things have to happen and none of them are instant. Artwork approved and proofed. Print run booked. Freight to your door. Leave it late and you're choosing from whatever is still sitting in a warehouse.

Sit down this week, work out who you're gifting and roughly what per head. That's the hard part. We'll do the rest.
