Welcome to the Paper Mulberry Cafe & Art Gallery

It is easy to whiz through Te Aute and Pukehou on SH2, but you'll find it well worth slowing down and pulling into the Paper Mulberry Cafe. We serve fresh, delicious cafe food and excellent coffee (some say the best they have ever tasted). Sit inside with our funky decor surrounded by a small range of local arts and crafts items, or sit outside on sunny days in our delightful gardens.

Part-Time Café Assistant Position Available – Fixed Term (3 Months)

The Paper Mulberry Café | Central Hawke’s Bay

We’re on the lookout for a warm, reliable, and hardworking person to join our team at The Paper Mulberry Café on a 3-month fixed-term contract.

This is a hands-on role in a busy, well-loved café with a strong local following. You’ll be part of a small, supportive team where good vibes, great service, and quality food are what we’re all about.

Hours:

* Tuesday: 11:00am – 3:30pm
* Friday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
* Saturday : 6:00am – 2:00pm or Sunday: 9:00am - 3:30pm

What you’ll be doing:

* Serving customers with friendly, efficient service
* Making coffees and beverages (barista experience a bonus, but not essential)
* Cabinet food service and light food prep
* Keeping the café clean, stocked, and running smoothly

We’re looking for someone who:

* Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic
* Is reliable and punctual
* Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
* Has great people skills and a natural warmth with customers
* Can work independently and as part of a team

What we offer:

* A supportive, down-to-earth team environment
* Consistent part-time hours
* The potential for **contract extension for the right candidate.
