Our new menu is here 📣📣

We’ve been busy in the kitchen getting Nectar ready for our next chapter, and we’re excited to finally share our new menu with you.

Expect plenty of house-made favourites, fresh cabinet food, great coffee and a few new things to try, with lots of gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options as always.

We make everything from scratch and use local and organic ingredients wherever we can.

Come in, grab a seat in our dog-friendly courtyard and enjoy some good food and good company.

We’re so excited to have the incredibly talented Jeffree joining us for our reopening weekend, bringing his unique style of relaxing, soulful music for you to enjoy.

Come along, settle into our beautiful courtyard or cosy indoor space, enjoy our new menu, something delicious from the cabinet, and a drink from our fully licensed bar — all while listening to Jeffree’s beautiful music.

It’s the perfect way to spend a weekend at Nectar Cafe.

A little peek inside Nectar

We’ve been busy getting our new indoor seating ready, and we’re so excited to have a cosy new space for you to enjoy — especially for those cooler days.

After a big year and a little time to reset, we’re really looking forward to opening the gates and welcoming all our Nectar friends, old and new, back from 25th September.

Come in for your favourites, try some of our new additions, enjoy a coffee and something from the cabinet, or simply settle in and enjoy our beautiful little corner of Matakana.

Hello Nectar friends 🌿

After an incredibly hard year, and a little break to pause, readjust and find our feet in our new lives, we’re finally ready to open the gates and welcome you all back to our beautiful café. 💚

We’re so excited to be reopening 25th September and welcome back all our old friends, as well as some new faces.

Our beautiful courtyard is ready for those sunny days, and we now have extra indoor seating with a cosy fire for the colder days. Our space is also available for functions and private events.

We’re fully licensed and will be serving our scratch-made cabinet food, along with a fresh new menu featuring some tasty new additions — while, of course, keeping plenty of your favourites.

And as always, there will be plenty of gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options.

We can’t wait to see you, catch up, share some good food and welcome you back to Nectar Café at Morris & James.

Behind the scenes at Cafe Nectar at Morris&James

Although we’ve been closed to the public for a little while, we’ve been keeping very busy behind the scenes with some beautiful private functions and events — serving up our delicious catering, with plenty of gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options too!

Here are a few moments we’ve been lucky enough to be part of recently:

Pink Ribbon Lunch with our friends from Fling Cocktails.

Morris & James - our much-missed neighbours - launching their amazing new book with some of our favourite finger food.

An intimate staff party for the wonderful team at Muddy Toes Kindy, who have been so incredibly supportive of Little Ocean. We’re very grateful for you all!

A beautiful lunch for the staff at matakana palms.

And a fun collaboration with our friends at Rural Rhythm Co-op, serving the finest beats alongside our smoked brisket & Kawakawa, fry bread

We absolutely love creating food for special occasions, and it’s been so lovely staying connected with our community through these events while we’re closed.

Starting Thursday 4th June, our freshly baked gluten-free and vegan focaccia bread will be available for pickup from — $24 per slab.

We’ll also have:

• Our famous large gluten-free pizza bases — 2 pack for $12
• Heat-and-eat gluten-free pulled brisket lasagnas
• Gluten-free & vegan spinach and feta cannelloni

Both meals are freezer friendly and available in:
• Single serve — $25
• Family size — $60

All Orewa orders need to be pre-ordered by Wednesday 3rd June.

For Matakana pickup, please place your orders by Friday 5th June for collection on Saturday 6th June from Nectar at Morris & James.
