Six years ago today, on Mother’s Day, Buttercream was born 🤍
What started as a little treat for myself turned into something I could have never imagined. The floral cupcakes in these pictures were the very first ones I made during Covid, 6 years ago. I still remember having a line of people waiting outside my house wanting to buy them for their mums.
From that tiny beginning grew a life-changing, full-fledged business. Since then, I’ve had the honour of creating over 1000 cakes, cupcakes, and sweet treats for people all across New Zealand 🇳🇿
I’m beyond grateful for every order, every kind word, every recommendation, and every bit of support over the years. Watching Buttercream grow from a small Mother’s Day idea into a dream come true has been the most incredible journey.

There were days I doubted myself, times things didn’t turn out right, and moments I felt like giving up. Not every cake was perfect, not every attempt was a win. But I kept showing up… learning, improving, and trusting the process.

Consistency isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s quiet, messy, and full of mistakes. But that’s where the magic happens 🌈
Today, I celebrate this piece—not just for how it looks, but for what it represents. Growth. Patience. Belief. And the courage to keep going even when it’s hard 💕
