Catering cooks prepare food for events like private parties and meetings, either in a fixed kitchen or off-site. This role requires extensive kitchen skills and a friendly, outgoing personality, since catering cooks frequently meet directly with event planners to develop the menu for a particular event. This role requires a great deal of flexibility, since catering cooks develop and execute different menus from event to event and may also need to prepare and transport food prior to an off-site event. Catering cooks also have excellent food presentation skills and the ability to work and communicate with diverse staff members to ensure a high level of client satisfaction and service delivery.
