Food Studio Food Studio wishes to change todays food system to a more sustainable network in the near future.

Food Studio wishes to change todays food system to a more sustainable network in the near future. 4 times a year, we organise a seasonal workshop and dinner in the natural surroundings of Oslo called Get Away. Other activities range from Get Away collaborations with other likeminded individuals and projects all over the world, to seminars and field trips for larger organisations in Norway to help

them make a change. We believe that learning comes easy with first hand experience. We therefore invite you to pack your backpack and join us for a seasonal workshop and dinner where you are a part of harvesting, foraging and making dinner. We collaborate closely with knowledgeable people ranging from foragers to farmers to challenge the daily way we think about and work with food, and to open up for new ideas and solutions for future food.

Når jeg først flyttet nyhetsbrevlista over i Substack var jeg usikker på om det var riktig. Denne sommeren har jeg igjen og igjen endt opp her for å gå litt dypere i historiene til de som har fanget min oppmerksomhet. Vil du gå dypere i våre fortellinger ligger lenke i bio.

When we had a sensory experience for Future Library, Kristoffer Pahle was asked to provide, the right artists.
For friday, something or someone that could complement and add something to the experience.

He immediately thought or Eivind Stordal, a musician currently working on an album conceived in the forest. The lyrics are circling around existence, the experience of being human and our relation with nature, both within and around us.

Eivind writes and performs on his acoustic guitar, with old dampened nylon strings and an insisting voice, demanding to be heard.

These are songs of necessity, both for him and for us, and the absence of technology draws us closer and makes it more tangible, almost like the food and the clay/ceramics/hardware. Together they make a whole. Touch, taste smell, look and listen.

Working like this, with sensory experiences, for me music and lyrics is a key element.

Om saturday the pitch was different; music as a living creature, a soundscape for sixty volunteers gathering as a family for lunch.
Who could do it? Robin Snasen!

Robin approached the task with a modular synth, an arsenal of effects, ambient drones and a set of secret sequences. As he prepared for a three hour improvised show he asked Kristoffer to join him, with guitar, keys and loads of effects.
Robin led the way, sonically filling the room like an aroma diffuser, blending with the rich, buttery smell of the soups. Kristoffers swelling guitars, long, reverberated sparkles followed, and the two blended like fog and forest, setting the tone while the group of volunteers and writers prepared for an evening performance amongs the future library trees.

Sounds like these, more an unconcious feeling than a performance, has a very different way of working it’s way into the mind and body than an artist singing a song or a dj playing moody music.
They both have their time and place, but interact differently. It’s like food; do you need a contrast or something that blends?
