Many people who have French Press wonder how to make delicious and flavorful coffee.

That's why we decided to share a few tips so that everyone could enjoy a perfect cup of coffee at home. Just keep in mind that the process may take longer, but it is definitely worth it.

▫️First, grind your coffee. You will need coarse particles as fine ones may easily block the filter.

▫️Boil water. When it is done, let it rest for a few minutes because you don't want the temperature to be too hot.

▫️Put ground coffee to the french press and then pour some boiled water to cover it. Stir it for a little bit, but do not use the plunger yet.

▫️Next thing is the coffee brewing process. Speaking of proper timing, it is all up to you. It depends on how you prefer your coffee to be done. You can easily adjust the time.

▫️The final step - press the plunger down.

Voila, now you can enjoy a cup of YOUR perfect coffee.

If you really want a 100% perfect cup of coffee, do not hesitate to contact us. We will be glad to find YOUR specialty type and describe all the features. With our help you will easily enjoy homemade coffee.

True Americano - how does it really taste?

Historically, the Americano got popular during WWII. A lot of American soldiers in Italy wanted to drink something that would remind them of home coffee. Smart Italian baristas started diluting espresso with hot water since Americans were not really fans of tiny cups of espresso.

Americano has about the same strength as filtered coffee, but not the same. You can still feel the difference because the coffee drink has this unique aroma of espresso despite the addition of water.

Just remember to add water only after the coffee is ready. It will keep the aroma but make a much softer taste.

In the Netherlands its better known as Zwarte Koffie and one of the popular way to drink your cup of coffee. No milk.

Do you know what else may significantly impact the taste of YOUR coffee?

Well, you may use the perfect roast, highest quality coffee, premium filters or an excellent coffee maker, but still mess up it all with an incorrect grind. When it comes to taste it is more about the way you grind your coffee.

The main thing you should remember is that the grinding shall be homogeneous. In other words, all coffee particles should not be of different size. Otherwise, larger particles will be brewed slower, whereas the process for small particles will take much less time. The crucial consequence is that such a difference may lead to a terrible flavor of coffee.

Keep this in mind and nothing will ruin your cup of coffee. If you have any questions, or want to get perfectly ground coffee, feel free to contact us! We are here to serve you the best.

What do you know about coffee from Brazil? Let us share few interesting facts about Brazilian coffee

Being the largest exporter of coffee in the world, Brazil is also its major consumer. On average, every resident drinks about 5 cups of coffee a day.

Almost all Brazilian coffee has a soft flavor. You may feel the sour taste only if the coffee grains have been grown somewhere in high mountains.

Surprisingly, grains are often harvested, cleaned and dried by hand on private plantations in Brazil. This way the product gets much greater value.

Before roasting coffee beans are green. The lighter the roasting, the deeper the taste.

For the major part, Brazil distributes grain and ground coffee. Speaking of instant coffee, it takes only around 10% of production.

What else do you know about coffee coming from Brazil? Do you like their coffee? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Simple fact: Coffee frozen on the 7th day after roasting will take approximately 5 years and 8 months to reach the same aging stage as coffee left at 25 ºC for 30 days.

Freezing coffee? What's the benefit?

Well, freezing coffee is good for several reasons:
Keep the coffee flavor at its best
Improve grinding texture since frozen coffee beans are ground more smoothly
Store a variety of types of coffee
Prevent coffee aging process

So, it sounds easy to freeze coffee and enjoy it for a much longer time. However, do not forget that good storing is another critical value.

Just remember that coffee stored in an unsealed package is likely to be less tasty than coffee stored in a vacuum bag.

Also, keep in mind that light roasting coffee can become tastier a week or two after roasting. Therefore, it is worth considering this when choosing the time to freeze particular coffee specialties.

Follow these tips and YOUR coffee will delight you for many more days

Coffee absorbs moisture, odors and tastes from the air around it, we need to be conscious about the right storage.

Well, all coffee hates three things: sunlight, moisture and air. So if you want to enjoy the taste and aroma of fresh coffee as long as possible, please always consider these factors.

We are here to share some common tips on how to store your coffee better. Some of them are very basic

Buy coffee in a relatively small amount to have freshly roasted beans every month
Grind the amount needed, right before the brewing
Keep beans away from the sunlight
Coffee's retail packaging is generally not ideal for long-term storage. Vacuum sealed containers are the best
Select a cool place. A cabinet near the oven is often too warm

If you need to store beans for longer, you might consider freezing them.
Freezing locks the flavors to the coffee beans and it will keep the coffee in the same status as it would be a few days after roasting. Will it taste as good as freshly roasted? Probably not but it will be close to it.

As we care about sustainability, let's talk about reusable filters.

Filters made of paper are the most common, but there are other options too: metal, nylon and cloth.

A simple cloth filter has some pores, so it allows the oils from the coffee beans to pass through. This way it gives your coffee a crunchy and distinct flavor. But you should remember that such filters must be carefully rinsed and completely dry before each new use.

Likewise, a metal filter lets the oils pass through during the brewing process. In the end you will get a more robust and visibly darker cup of coffee. A nice bonus is that metal filters are normally dishwasher-friendly.

Due to some pores, nylon filters may still let coffee dust and oils through. That's why you may notice a slight sediment in your cup of coffee. You can use a dishwasher to clean such filter, but better do it by hand.

Recently I saw reusable ceramic filters from Japan. Has anyone tried them yet?

When talking about the taste of coffee, we should always remember the nuances of the growing process. In this sense Ethiopian coffee is a great example.

Historically, Ethiopia is the birthplace of the Arabica. What is unique about Arabica? It is more spicy and oily, has a bright bitter taste and very subtle sour flavor. It turns out to be a light or mild deep taste drink.

Ethiopia is literally made to grow coffee. Perfect weather conditions, fertile soil and suitable climate allow no fertilizers and chemicals to be integrated in the growing process in this region. Because of its high altitude, Ethiopia experiences large variations in daily temperatures. In such conditions, coffee beans ripen more slowly, get more sweetness, acidity and complexity of flavor.

If you have ever tried Ethiopian Arabica, you could notice some fruity notes. This happens because fruit plants grow next to the coffee shrubs. Fruits cover fragile shrubs with their leaves from unstable climate conditions. In such a favorable atmosphere, coffee gets filled with nice fruity and floral aromas.

Coffee is a cult in Ethiopia. Any important event starts with a coffee ceremony which may last for 2-3 hours. It is like a family tradition where even children are welcomed to participate.

Ethiopians believe that such a ceremony shows deep respect and sincere friendship. We think that such a lovely tradition of sharing coffee shall be introduced in other cultures, nations and countries.

Want to try the set of Ethiopian beans? One country of origin and 3 dutch roasters who did the perfect job that you can taste a lot of nuances and understand Ethiopian coffee yourself.
