Herbal tinctures are concentrated liquid extracts made by soaking herbs in alcohol to draw out their active compounds, making them easy to store and use. I made my thyme and yarrow tincture eight weeks ago, and it was finally ready to be filtered and transferred to a glass bottle. This tincture is traditionally used to help soothe coughs, which comes in handy since I am performing a lot. I am also soaking lavender and chamomile in vodka to make another tincture. After several weeks, it will be ready and is traditionally used to promote better sleep.✨
