Theme: Resilience of Humanitarian Workers Serving Displaced Communities

As the world commemorates World Humanitarian Day 2026, we celebrate the courage, resilience, sacrifice, and dedication of humanitarian workers serving displaced and crisis-affected communities.

Despite insecurity, limited resources, difficult conditions, and personal risks, humanitarian workers continue to provide essential support, protection, healthcare, education, shelter, food, and hope to vulnerable people.

At LARVAR CARE Foundation, we believe humanitarian action must not only address immediate needs but also promote dignity, resilience, self-reliance, inclusion, recovery, and sustainable solutions for displaced communities.

We commend humanitarian workers, volunteers, government agencies, civil society organizations, donors, and partners for their continued service. We also honour those who have lost their lives while serving humanity.

Let us invest in the safety and wellbeing of humanitarian workers and strengthen support for the communities they serve.

To every humanitarian worker: your courage matters, your sacrifice matters, and your humanity matters.

LARVAR CARE FOUNDATION OUTREACH — GIREI, SANGERE COMMUNITY

Today, LARVAR CARE FOUNDATION reached out to the Sangere Community in Girei, bringing smiles and hope to children and families.

We distributed clothes and essential items to community members, and the joy on the children's faces reminded us that even a simple act of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

This is what humanitarian service is about—restoring dignity, spreading hope, and touching lives.

‎Today, we celebrate the energy, creativity, resilience, and limitless potential of young people around the world.

‎Under the theme “Different context, Common Aspiration,”we are reminded that young people may have different dreams, backgrounds, talents, and ambitions, but we share many of the same realities, challenges, and hopes for a better future.

‎From the classroom to the workplace, from rural communities to urban centres, young people are shaping the world through innovation, leadership, entrepreneurship, advocacy, volunteerism, and community action.

The Executive Director of LARVAR CARE Foundation, alongside members of the Foundation's team, actively participated in a strategic consultation meeting with the Coalition of Youth-Led Organizations (COYLO), Adamawa State Chapter, to advance preparations for this year's International Youth Day celebration.

The consultation focused on fostering collaboration, promoting youth leadership, and developing innovative, inclusive activities that will amplify the voices of young people while driving sustainable community development across Adamawa State.

At LARVAR CARE Foundation, we believe that meaningful youth engagement is the foundation for lasting peace, innovation, and development. Together, we are committed to making this year's International Youth Day impactful, inclusive, and inspiring.

Youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow—they are the changemakers of today.

LARVAR CARE FOUNDATION successfully facilitated a high-impact capacity-building training, bringing together Government Partners to launch the Pilot Needs Assessment and Solution Pathways Data Collection across selected communities in Adamawa State.

This important initiative is designed to assess and strengthen durable solution pathways for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Returnees, ensuring that every intervention is community-owned, government-led, inclusive, and evidence-driven.

Why this matters:
Adamawa State continues to host thousands of IDPs and Returnees who are rebuilding their lives through voluntary return, local integration, and relocation. Sustainable solutions can only be achieved when decisions are guided by the voices of communities and supported by strong government leadership.

The pilot will:
✅ Conduct participatory data collection in IDP camps and returnee/host communities.
✅ Identify priority needs, existing capacities, and conditions for durable solutions.
✅ Strengthen community and government ownership of findings and recommendations.
✅ Generate credible evidence to guide government, humanitarian partners, and donors in scaling up effective interventions.
✅ Measure progress toward achieving durable solutions across the state.

This initiative represents more than data collection—it is about creating a future where displaced families can rebuild their lives with dignity, resilience, and lasting opportunities.

We were honored to pay a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ADSPHCDA), Dr. Suleiman Bashir.

During the meeting, Dr. Bashir commended Larvar Care Foundation for its strong youth-driven approach, describing young people as a vital force for sustainable community development. He also expressed his willingness to collaborate and partner with the Foundation in advancing impactful health and humanitarian initiatives across Adamawa State.

Together, we look forward to building strategic partnerships that will improve lives and strengthen our communities.

Strengthening Partnerships for Data-Driven Development

Larvar Care Foundation paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Yohanna Yakubu Dzarma, Statistician-General of the Adamawa State Bureau of Statistics, at his office in Yola.

The visit provided an opportunity to discuss areas of mutual interest, particularly in promoting evidence-based planning, research, data management, monitoring and evaluation, and sustainable community development. We appreciate the warm reception and insightful discussions, and we look forward to building a productive partnership that will enhance development interventions across Adamawa State.

Together, we can leverage quality data to create lasting impact for our communities.
