Every day, the news in this country feels like a nightmare.
Abductions. Killings. People disappearing. Churches attacked. Families destroyed.
And what do we hear from those in power?
Silence. Too much silence.
Before this government came into power, we were told “It is my turn.”
But leadership is not a turn-by-turn game.
It is not inheritance. It is responsibility.
It is accountability.
It is protection.
When a leader’s focus is “my turn,” the people become secondary.
And that is exactly the Nigeria we are living in today.
Look around, insecurity has become a business.
People are now joining kidnapping groups the way someone joins a trade.
Why?
Because the system is failing, and when the system fails, desperation rises.
No matter how people protest, no matter how we cry out, the response is the same: silence.
It feels like those at the top are protected, comfortable, and untouched by the chaos the rest of us face every day.
It is painful to watch a country slowly lose its value for human life.
It is painful to see politicians treating Nigeria like a chessboard turn by turn, row by row while ordinary citizens are being terrorized.
We are no longer talking about infrastructure.
We are no longer talking about jobs.
We are no longer talking about growth.
Right now, Nigerians just want to stay alive.
A nation cannot move forward when insecurity becomes normal.
A nation cannot grow when people are living in fear.
A nation cannot survive when leadership looks away.
I am speaking because our silence is costing lives.
If we don’t talk, if we don’t raise our voices, this frustration will push more people into crime, and more lives will be destroyed.
Nigeria deserves better.
Nigerians deserve safety.
We deserve leadership that acts, not leadership that keeps quiet while the country bleeds.
