FEDERAL AGENTS FATALLY SHOOT ALEX PRETTI IN MINNEAPOLIS

On January 24, 2026, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse and U.S. citizen, was shot and killed by U.S. federal agents during an immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

According to reports:
Alex Pretti was recording federal agents with his phone during the operation.
Federal authorities claimed he posed a threat.
Bystander videos and witness accounts have raised serious questions about that claim.
He died at the scene after being shot by agents.

This incident has sparked public outrage and protests, reopening difficult conversations about:

Use of force by law enforcement

Accountability of federal agencies

The safety of civilians during enforcement operations
Regardless of political position, every human life matters, and every fatal use of force deserves transparent investigation.
A democracy is tested not by silence, but by its willingness to question power and demand truth.

Justice must not only be done — it must be seen to be done.

REMEMBERING BARR. BARNABAS & AMAKA IGWE
(NBA Chairman, Onitsha Branch)

On 1st September 2002, Barrister Barnabas Igwe, then Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Onitsha Branch, and his wife Amaka Igwe were brutally murdered in Onitsha while returning from an outing.
Barr. Igwe was known as a fearless voice, outspoken against poor governance, unpaid salaries, and misuse of public funds in Anambra State at the time. His wife, Amaka, was pregnant.
They were attacked, dragged out of their vehicle, and killed in one of the most shocking assassinations in Nigeria’s democratic history.
More than two decades later, this tragedy still raises painful questions:

What is the cost of speaking truth to power?

How safe are citizens who demand accountability?

Has justice truly been served?
At Paranoma, we remember this couple not to reopen wounds, but to remind ourselves why good governance, rule of law, and protection of dissenting voices matter.

A society that forgets its silenced voices risks repeating the same violence.
Never forget. Never normalize political violence.

Black Muse Festival Lights Up Benin City! A New Era for Nigerian Art & Culture
Something beautiful is happening in Benin City; and the whole world needs to see it.
Nigeria has just opened a 3,500m² sculpture park as part of the Black Muse Art Festival, and it is nothing short of breathtaking.
Designed by visionary architect James Inedu-George, the new space blends art, greenery, and culture in a way that celebrates our heritage while pushing us into the future. From massive sculptures to interactive installations, this festival is proving one thing:
Nigeria’s creative spirit is unstoppable.
For years, we have watched other countries invest in public art and cultural parks. Today, Nigeria is stepping boldly into that space — showcasing our talent, our stories, and our identity with pride.
This isn’t just a festival.
It’s a statement.
It’s a reminder that art is power, culture is wealth, and Nigeria is a creative giant waiting to be fully recognized.
Imagine schoolchildren walking through this park and seeing African stories carved in metal, stone, and light. Imagine tourists coming to Benin City not just for history, but for living creativity. Imagine local artists being given platforms to shine globally.
• This is what happens when art meets vision.
• This is what happens when Nigeria invests in culture.
Let’s celebrate this milestone!
And if you are in or around Benin City, this is your chance to witness something truly historic.
Would you love to visit this new sculpture park?
Drop a “YES” in the comments.

Nigeria Is Bleeding Again ; 25 Schoolgirls Kidnapped in Kebbi State
Another dark cloud has fallen over Nigeria.
Twenty-five innocent schoolgirls were kidnapped in Maga, Kebbi State, and the vice principal who tried to protect them was killed. These are children with dreams, parents with hope, and a nation with wounds that never get the chance to heal.
How many more times must our daughters be taken before we say “Enough is enough”?
How many more families must face this horror alone?
Right now, our security forces are doing their best, but this crisis has outgrown local capacity. Banditry and mass abductions have become a national emergency — and we cannot keep fighting it alone.
At this point, Nigeria needs stronger international support, advanced technology, intelligence assistance, and rescue expertise. Countries like the United States, with vast experience in hostage recovery and counter-terror operations, can help.
This is not about politics.
This is about humanity.
About our daughters.
About our future.
If the world can unite to rescue hostages elsewhere, then the world can also stand with Nigeria today.
We call on global partners ; including the United States ; to support Nigeria with intelligence, surveillance, rescue resources, and strategic assistance.
Our girls deserve every possible effort to bring them home.
Pray for the families.
Raise your voice.
And let the world know: Nigeria’s children must not be forgotten.

🚨 Let’s Talk Legacy: Okpara. Mbakwe. Otti.🚨

Someone recently tried to compare Dr. Michael Okpara and Dr. Sam Mbakwe to Governor Alex Otti — and while I understand the sentiment, let’s not stretch the facts.

Yes, Otti is trying. He's paying salaries, fixing roads, cleaning Aba, and restoring a measure of hope in Abia. But Dr. Okpara and Dr. Mbakwe didn’t just “try” — they redefined what leadership meant in their eras.

Let’s remind ourselves:

🔹 Dr. Michael Okpara (Premier, Eastern Region 1959–1966)
He made the Eastern Region the fastest-growing economy in Africa.
He built agro-industrial settlements, massive palm plantations, and industrial hubs like Trans-Amadi.
He governed without stealing a kobo — when he died, he had no mansion, no fleet, no stash. Just legacy.

🔹 Dr. Sam Mbakwe (Governor, Old Imo State 1979–1983)
They called him “the weeping governor” because he cried FOR his people, not ON them.
He built Imo State University (now ABSU), invested in roads, health, and education.
He believed in governance with heart — real service, not empty politics.

Now let’s be fair…

🔸 Alex C. Otti is barely two years in office.
Yes, he’s cleaning up years of rot and has shown courage — but legacy isn’t built in one election cycle.
You don’t become Okpara or Mbakwe by comparison. You do it by impact, sacrifice, and vision that outlives you.

📌Let’s support Otti, yes. But let’s not erase history in the name of praise-singing.
If Otti truly follows in their footsteps, he won’t need to be compared — his legacy will speak for itself.

✊🏾 Greatness is not claimed. It is earned.
